Would search engines index this URL?

Just wondering if search engines would index the following URL:

www.sitename.com/products.php/12

I know they will index this one
www.sitename.com/products/12

Yes, I believe they will index the first url however the second url is much more seo friendly. Therefore you should try to rewrite your urls and instead of 12 the name of the product or whatever you have there.
Ideal would be www.sitename.com/laptop.html

Logically, they can index as long as the page is viewable and with proper source code.

you should try mod_rewrite to rewrite your urls

Yes, they will index it, but I would definitely repeat what edesimusic was saying, use the .htaccess file to rewrite your urls so they're more seo friendly.

sometimes, mod_rewrite is disabled by some hosting providers!
