Well I have a few ideas that I apply before regging certain type of Domains.Hope to share it with you guys as you might find them useful.
1)Before I register a Product Name which is available in dot com extension I see the Google Image search results and mostly go for products that have at least 15,000 search results for the exact product's keywords within quotes.
For Available Product Names in dot net extension I mostly go with Domain with at least 100,000 Image search results for the exact product's keywords within quotes.
The Image search results is also helpful when you are confused whether to go with the plural version of the product name or the singular version of that product name.
2)Before Regging Tube Domains(Non Adult) I make sure that the keyword Makes sense with the "Tube" keyword and secondly I go to YouTube.com and see the Exact search results for the Keyword within quotes and if they are above 150,000 or not.
Hope this info saves fellow NP'ers a few $$ and they do not learn from their mistakes but instead from my Mistakes.
*I do not solely register Domains that fit in the above mentioned criteria alone but also see other aspects like advertising competition,keyword combinations,Brandability aspect,previous similar sales,number of endusers,trademarks etc and hope that you would be doing the same and would be using this info as an additional pointer to value Domains similar to those that I have discussed above.
