I own a rather good .com related to Thailand.

Just had an email offer via Namedrive that went - " I really must have this name and will offer you $5 " :)

I now realize that my initial offer for Thailandisasuperfantasticplacetovisit-seriously-seriously.com was a bit low.

I raise my offer to $10.50.

Deal?

I use $5 notes as toilet paper. Unfortunately I don't need anymore at this stage. :p

It must be some kid.
I never successfully sold the domain for more than $xxx.xx from
less than $xx.xx initial offers.

However, I did menage to sell for high $x,xxx.xx starting from
initial offer of very low $xxx.xx many times.

I think dumb 'offers' like that do not even warrant a reply.

I have turned $25 and $50 initial offers into mid-high x,xxx sales but don't think I ever got a $5 offer, hard to say without knowing the name, maybe point him to a sedo sales page where at least the minimum offer he could bid then is $60 and negotiate from there or just ignore it as $5 doesn't even pay for your time to respond.

Simply reply "Offer rejected" :)

I want $5 for spending time to read this thread :|

Obviously that message would go straight to the trash can IMO

^^^ Best answer in thread IMHO.

Silly offers are routinely dumped into /dev/nul without response. If they really want it they will get back to you.

I'd reply back and say that if I don't receive a better offer in the next 192 years, then I'll let you have it for $5.

"Sorry your offer is lower than what would be defined as an offer for this domain. This domain warrants atleast an offer in the XYZ range. If you would like to acquire the domain, please give me an offer in the range mentioned. Thanks."

You might be pleasantly surprised.

Ha! That is another good response.

Here is one I occasionally use for those silly $60 offers at Sedo:

I type this message into the response message window at Sedo, and then set a $5,000,000 counter offer:

"Unreasonable offers receive unreasonable counter offers".

The last time I did this at Sedo, the person increased the bid from $60 to $65, so I dropped my counter offer by 1 million, and responded with $4,000,000. That ended the thread.
