I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

Remember that claiming to want to do something is quite different than actually doing it,

So some of it is just for publicity and creating some excitement.

Anon's activities are usually limited to hacking databases for obtaining data. To hack (sabotage) a Country's vital infrastructure and systems falls under the capabilities and authority of the State Actors and is supervised at the highest levels of the Governments.

Setlling the score with Putin will take time. Defeating and punishing Russia is essential, but if backed into a corner, no doubt Putin will escalate the war resulting in even more Ukranian suffering. The immediate goal should be to pause the conflict by allowing him something he can call success, while in meantime stiffening sanctions, reducing EU's dependence on Russian oil and gas and bolstering Ukraine's defenses in order to stay alive.

Analysis:

So here we go for the rest of you:

Where is the World going to be in 5 years from now,

Although everyone thinks of Nuclear War as the worse thing that can happen going forward, but in reality the chances of an all out Nuclear War are very low, because unless you are an ISIS terrorist who thinks that he is going to go to heaven by blowing up everyone else the rest of the World pretty much all want to be able to continue to live and are not that anxious to end the World.

That being said there might still be a chance for a limited and strategic use of Nuclear Weapons under controlled and pre declared conditions.

But the way that I see it the biggest danger to the World is going to come from:

- Global Economical Collapse
- A new Pandemic
- Global Warming and all the Environmental Damage
- Rising Ocean Waters
- Worldwide Hunger and Famine
- Mass Migrations and Resettlements
- Hostilities and Conflicts over vanishing and limited Resources
- A Nuclear Plant, Ship, or Sub malfunction or intentional sabotage
- Rogue AI or Human Hackers bringing the World to a stand still
- And a remote chance of the Earth getting hit by a huge Asteroid

The main problem that I see is that this War is taking everyone’s attention off of all these other dangers that are simmering in the background and by the time that this War is over one of the problems that I have mentioned is probably going to catch up with the World at maximum force and effect.

The question that comes to mind now is that are we really an intelligent species or not,

Because for a supposedly intelligent race of people we are leaving a lot of things to chance when it comes to the future of Humanity and our Home Planet.

This is a question worthy of its own thread...perhaps those in charge at nps should start a separate poll/thread about this subject...Ukraine will certainly play a part in the future of Earth, but I'm afraid the resulting damage (further killing, invasion, starvation, disease) from this war will multiply and ripple though humanity for years to come.

And there is an important point that I have been trying to bring to everyone's attention for several years now even when I was just posting in the Environmental and Covid threads which is that we can not fix these problems without addressing and understanding the big picture because all these problems are connected together and they require us to get into a whole new mindset and way of life in order to gain control over our future.

At one time I even suggested the establishment of a special department and task force that has the primary mission and responsibility to foresee and preempt all the existential dangers that are facing Humanity and our Home Planet.

I don’t believe human existence will end by nuclear weaponry, I feel the very things you point out are what will end the existence of humans, accentually, we kill our own selves , not very intelligent eh? We have dumped so much chemicals into the ocean and sea, definitely not very intelligent , we do things that destroy ourselves and the environment, for money , “Money Makes The World Go Around”. Money will be the demise of humanity and its natural resources that it takes to survive , In the World IMO

The World definitely needs to be changed,

Not through War, but rather by us finding common grounds over the Universal Principles and Values that are derived through Logic and Compassion.

When I get a chance to write my book for 'Remaking Humanity' and develop its website then everyone will see how everything that I have been talking about for the past few years all comes together.

PS: Yes it's not very intelligible of us to ruin our Home Planet. All the Environmental damage that we have been discussing in the Environmental thread is eventually going to make this Planet of ours uninhabitable for us. I have added the Environmental Damage along with Global Warming as one of the main threats that are going to do us in.

Russia Targets Moldova Invasion Next as They Seek Land Corridor via Ukraine

A top Russian general has raised the prospect that a breakaway Moscow-aligned part of Moldova is next in the Kremlin's sights in its invasion of Ukraine.

Rustam Minnekayev, deputy commander of Russia's Central Military District, said that there were Kremlin plans to make a passage into Transnistria as part of a strategy to create a land corridor to Crimea, which Moscow seized from Kyiv in 2014.

He said that the aim of the second phase of the invasion of Ukraine, which the Kremlin calls a "special military operation," was to establish "full control" over the Donbas and southern Ukraine.

Transnistria is a Russian-speaking breakaway state which is not recognized internationally as independent and is considered to be part of Moldova. Its economy is propped up by Moscow and Russian troops are stationed there.

Its strategic location along the border with Ukraine was referred to by Minnekayev who said "control over the south of Ukraine is another exit into Transnistria, where there are also facts pointing to the oppression of the Russian-speaking population," Tass reported.

Before his invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of pursuing "genocide" of the Russian-speaking population in the eastern Donbas region.

As well as the "denazification" of Ukraine, protecting Russian speakers was among his justifications for the war which have been widely rejected by the international community.

Minnekayev told a defense industry meeting in Russia's Sverdlovsk region, "We are now at war with the whole world, as it was in the Great Patriotic War," referring to Russia's description of World War II.
