I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

Zelensky already said two weeks ago that Ukraine will not join NATO.
I wrote:

"If Ukraine agrees to not seek NATO membership and to become a neutral Country"

Becoming a neutral Country is as important as not becoming a NATO member.

Neutral? What's neutral for Putler? Being a completely unarmed country?
Do you think that after this aggression and massacre by the russian Hitler, Ukraine is going to be "neutral" and unarmed?
Either Ukraine joins NATO, or they arm themselves to the teeth. That's for sure. After this invasion I bet there will be a Stinger in every house and a tank in every garage in Ukraine.

Russia might agree to them having some small defensive weapons, but I don't believe that they want NATO to place ballistic missiles in Ukraine which was one of their security concerns that made them invade Ukraine in the first place.

I am not saying if Russia's demands are fair or not. At this time it is totally up to the Ukrainian people themselves to decide if they want to meet these demands or not. As I already said Ukraine might even decide to go on the offensive in the Donbas region.

It all comes down to if all sides want to find a way to bring this conflict to an end or not which if they do then they need to restart the diplomatic talks again which I believe Ukraine is now in a lot better position to negotiate from.

That was an excuse to invade Ukraine, not a concern. Putler is a professional lier and you cannot believe a word leaving his mouth. There are SAM systems placed over all NATO countries near Russia and they have not been invaded by Putler. How come that he invaded the only one without those missile systems?

they need to restart the diplomatic talks again which I believe Ukraine is now in a lot better position to negotiate from.
Ukraine was always up to talk. But those diplomatic talks were just a "theater" for Putler. What kind of talks do you want to believe while the russian Hitler is daily bombing, targeting and massacring innocent civilians?

I guess we have to wait and see what the Ukrainian people themselves see as being in their interest to do under the present conditions,

But in general having successful peace talks requires for all sides to make some compromises to meet each other halfway.

The important thing here is for the peace talks to get underway again and hopefully this time around all sides can engage in some meaningful talks that can lead to a permanent ceasefire.

Some Russia and Ukraine history: the Holodomor. This was a time when some of my Ukrainian ancestors were lucky enough to get out of Ukraine:

How Stalin starved Ukraine

It was a man-made famine that Russia continues to cover up to this day.

"In Ukraine, it’s become known as “the Holodomor,” meaning “death by starvation.” It was a campaign many now regard as genocide, carried out by a dictator who wanted to keep Ukraine under his control and who would do anything to keep it covered up for decades."

Analysis: peeps who downvoted Putin's false Nazi claims are either a) Russian sympathizer b) Putin's pawn or c) Nazi

I was thinking more along the lines of their being an accessory/ies to murder.

"An accessory must generally have knowledge that a crime is being committed, will be committed, or has been committed. A person with such knowledge may become an accessory by helping or encouraging the criminal in some way. The assistance to the criminal may be of any type, including emotional or financial assistance as well as physical assistance or concealment."

Because the up and down votes are done anonymously you also have to consider the fact that some of the NamePros staff (with their own political agendas) could be manipulating these votes like for example by attaching an up or down vote to a post that was meant for a different post.

I personally don't like the fact that we are kept in the dark about who is giving these up and down votes and for that reason I very rarely ever use that system.

If I don't like what someone is posting or that I feel that they are motivated by some less than honorable ulterior motives and agendas I am not shy to say that right in their face.

I agree. Predjudice is a disease for which there is no vaccine. Fortunately, there is treatment - education. :xf.wink:

This is what I said on page 5 of this thread almost a month ago which I believe might still apply to the situation in Ukraine:

In my opinion the best outcome at this point (considering the realities on the ground) would be:

To declare an immediate ceasefire on all fronts.

For Ukraine to be recognized as a neutral and demilitarized Country.

For the two Independent States in the Donbas region to be recognized by the UN.

For Russia to pull back all its military forces out of Ukraine.

For the severe part of the sanctions that had been designed to crush Russia's economy to be reversed.

For everything else to be ironed out in further constructive diplomatic talks.

Reading news from last 24 hours, ie:- Ukraine posed to take back Kherson today, plus other areas Ukraine have took back from Russia in recent days.

Russian soldiers deliberately killing their own commander (running over him with a tank).

Seeing a Russian warship being blown up, another one sailing off on fire.

Russians building makeshift cages onto tanks to protect themselves from anti-tank missiles

This conflict has been brutal for them, there’s no way these soldiers are going to go back to Russia and stay quiet, there’s going to be a lot of backlash.

1 month ago I was concerned Ukraine was just the start and Russia had their eye on other neighbouring countries, but I’m convinced even if this conflict ends right now, Russia won’t even dream about invading another country for a long time.

And complacency may not only signal naivety, but also complicity ...sad creatures like Gollum lurking in the shadows. :watching:

The man proudly claims that everyone "is in shock when they see an American passport at the checkpoints." The fighter regularly publishes videos from military operations and boasts of his achievements in Ukraine. According to him, one of the tasks was to locate Russian soldiers using drones.

At the same time, Vazquez was accused on Twitter of creating fakes for the sake of fame: he claims that he is posing against the backdrop of a wrecked Russian tank, but Twitter user Gonzalo Lira indicated that the burned tank is Ukrainian, this can be seen from the details of protective weapons. In response, Vasquez blocked him.

I think the reality is this conflict has proven Russia have hyped their own equipment and it’s not just equipment, this conflict as also highlighted how poorly Russian troops have performed, it's like watching a former great boxer still trying to perform into their 40's. A whole revamp of Russia’s armed forces is needed, equipment/training/strategy to even basics such as clothing (gloves)/fuel/food and giving a soliders a cause to believe in before sending to war, there’s been little to no planning what so ever as gone into this from the Russian side, it’s like they’ve just sent their troops there to be slaughtered and sad thing is they are still persisting with it.

You can see the difference how Ukrainian forces perform, whilst their equipment is not great (still using a lot of soviet era equipment) + relying on NATO donations, they’ve revamped their military (training) in the last 10 years to perform like a western army and it shows on the battlefield when it comes to strategic battles that doesn’t involve Russia using missiles, Russia are taking huge losses.

UA for Moscow is a playground to train unexperienced(18..22 y old with about 1 year pre training) soldiers - there are not much special forces deployed and besides only chechens are allowed to film.

Majority of UA 'victory' videos are from small professional sabotage reconnaissance groups 'fighting' against support columns of ordinary bulk of soldiers - good for propaganda to boost morale of front line troops...

Did he just call for "regime change" for the first time by saying Putin can't remain in power? Putin is fuming right now..
