I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

IMO

Remember when the GOP appointed "Cyber Ninjas" lead the months long audit in Arizona, that actually showed Biden won by more votes...LOL

Arizona ‘audit’ finds Biden won (by more votes) and no evidence of fraud

https://www.azmirror.com/2021/09/23...n-won-by-more-votes-and-no-evidence-of-fraud/

Get over it. Trump lost.

Brad

I said Wisconsin not Arizona. I never said Trump didn't loose, I said Biden was elected by fraud.

We'll see what the Grand Jury says.

OK tough guy. Remember the next time you need to make a smart ass remark, you can copy and insert a quote into the politics thread.

I just think it is more relevant to talk about the current President, and how he helped unify NATO as not seen in a long time...not the guy who isn't President. The former guy is largely irrelevant to what is going on.

So now the most immediate issue at hand is how is NATO going to respond if Russia uses weapons or methods of mass extermination.

To say it another way how can NATO respond that isn't going to escalate things into a much bigger conflict.

To the people in the besieged Cities dying through starvation is as bad as being exterminated by chemical weapons. So if Russia destroys one City at a time and moves to the next after a year or so it would have control over not only the majority of Ukraine, but perhaps also some of the smaller and more vulnerable East European Countries that are not members of NATO.

LOL.. I'm going to save this for the next time you mention Trump to distract from Biden's next embarrassing debacle.

Someone made a post about this above...is this for real?!?!? If so, the West (NATO, EU, US) needs to remove Putin immediately!

I've got no doubt some people in the border area might rather be in Russia...however, the numbers they say are going 'willingly' are staggeringly high.

Ukraine says Moscow is forcibly moving civilians to Russia

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine accused Moscow on Thursday of forcibly taking hundreds of thousands of civilians from shattered Ukrainian cities to Russia, where some may be used as “hostages” to pressure Kyiv to give up.

Lyudmyla Denisova, Ukraine’s ombudsperson, said 402,000 people, including 84,000 children, have been taken against their will.

United Russia chief Andrei Turchak says Moscow will rebuild Mariupol – and never give it back to Ukraine.

“So that nobody has any doubts: Russia’s here forever.”t.me/turchak_andrey…

Only a real Nazi can say that. So for him it's very normal to completely destroy a city to invade it, and then rebuild it to say "it's mine forever".
The russian Hitler and his nazi puppets are true copycats of what Hitler did in 1940.

We are currently watching in real time a new Hitler, this time a russian Hitler.
And history usually repeats in very similar ways. When Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia and Poland, the world didn't react.
The Ukraine aggression, as his president already has said a few times, it's not just a war in Ukraine, but an aggression to the free world. It's a massacre of a sovereing democracy by a dictatorship ruled by a mass murderer.
If the West don't help Ukraine with what they need (they are just asking for the weapons they need to survive and self defend their country), this aggression won't stop in Ukraine.

Both were/are evil incarnate. It is unconscionable he is taking prisoners/hostages...especially children.

Below is a time lapse of the illegal invasion of Russian forces in Ukraine.

Watch #Russia’s campaign in #Ukraine stall in this time-lapse of @TheStudyofWar and @criticalthreats mapping of the war in Ukraine.

The new generation of surface to air (including shoulder fired) missiles are far superior to those used in conflicts a generation ago.

4 helicopters at 30 million each equals 120 million dollars.
6 stinger style missiles at 40 thousand each equals 160 thousand dollars.
Human lives...incalculable (regardless of side).

You are right that the world did nothing when Germany invaded Czechoslovakia but when they invaded Poland on September 1, 1939 both England and France declared war on Germany (3 September 1939) and even though they were not able to help Poland immediately, it was probably still the move which ignited the world war 2 - I agree and support that we must provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons so that they can defend themselves.

Russian social media didn't censor Pres. Trump.

Russian media didn't lie about Trump while Protecting Biden who hid in his basement.

Russian's didn't illegally harvest ballots from retirement homes.

Russian's didn't spend over $400,000,000 to influence local election boards.
Seems to me you condemn your own president more than the actions of the mad Russian president in Ukraine.

It's sad that your camp cannot see the deliterious consequences of maintaining said election fraud on American integrity in world affairs. IMO

The world (and future) is changing before our eyes. Even if by some miracle the Russians return home today, the impact has, and will, change how many countries interact forever. The 'peace dividend' has evaporated.

BlackRock’s Larry Fink says Ukraine war is putting an end to decades of globalization

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said the war in Ukraine is heralding the end to three decades of increasing globalization.

In his annual letter to shareholders, Fink, who leads the world’s largest asset manager, highlighted just how profound the Russian invasion of Ukraine is in a historic context. He explained how both governments and private companies have left Vladimir Putin’s Russia isolated on the global stage.

“The attack on a sovereign nation is something we have not seen in Europe in nearly 80 years — and most of us never imagined that in our lifetimes we would see a war like this waged by a nuclear superpower,” said Fink.

Fink noted the history of Russia and how it emerged from the Soviet Union in the early 1990s and was welcomed into the global financial system, something that heralded the start of a “global peace dividend” and the expansion of globalization.

During the years since the USSR dissolved, international trade increased, global capital markets were expanded, and there was increased economic growth and poverty reduction around the world, he said.

“But the Russian invasion of Ukraine has put an end to the globalization we have experienced over the last three decades,” Fink told shareholders.

Yes that's right. I meant when Hitler "annexed" (invaded) the Sudetenland in 1938, with the same excuse Putin has used to invade Ukraine, because of the german speakers in the Sudetenland. Putin because of the russian speakers in East Ukraine (ironically the people that is most suffering the massacre of Putler in Donbass and Mariupol).
-------------------------

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/z92hw6f/revision/4

29-30 September 1938Britain, France, Germany and Italy met in Munich. Crucially Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union were not present. The four countries agreed to the German occupation of the Sudetenland between 1 and 10 October. German troops occupy the Sudetenland. Britain and France were following a policy of appeasement. Neville Chamberlain returned to Britain claiming he had established peace in our time. However following the agreement both Britain and France speeded up their own rearmament plans. Chamberlain's claim turned out to be a false hope as within a year of the agreement World War Two had started.

Sanctions to Putler's regime should remain until Putler is out of every inch of land that he has invaded in Ukraine, specially the massacred Mariupol (if they get to invade it. Because for the moment it's still Ukraine).
Anything other than that would be a betrayal to Ukraine and the free world.
So let's see if Putler wants to put Russia in an isolated regime like North Korea for too long.

It's a double edged sword, Sutruk..

"Despite producing significant amounts of oil and gas, the UK is not protected from the economic consequences of sanctioning Russian oil and gas production. The price paid for gas in the UK is dependent on the level of demand for gas in Europe and the price paid for oil is dependent on the global price. Further sanctions on Russian oil or gas will lead to higher prices, which in turn will feed through to UK households and businesses.

There will be a cost to the UK economy of the economic sanctions imposed on Russia. It is not possible yet to quantify that cost, but the Committee believes that, on the information currently available, it is most definitely a cost worth bearing in order to aid Ukraine in opposing Russian aggression. However, that cost, combined with the already present pressures in the UK on the cost of living, will impact the whole country, and will be felt particularly by low income households."

https://committees.parliament.uk/co...n-and-impact-of-economic-sanctions-on-russia/

Right now, it's still "a cost worth bearing" they say, but when lower income families take to the streets because of high living cost, things may change.

So maybe it's time to step up the effort to switch to renewable energies, or at least to other more clean energy sources.
If not for the oil and gas exports, Putler woudn't have a penny to finance his war machine.

What the world cannot do is remain indifferent and without sanctions watching the daily massacre of innocent civilians that Putin's regime is inflicting on Ukraine, due to a totally unjustifiable invasion of a sovereign country and democracy.
