I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

IMO

Putin cannot hide his war crimes:

Russian Airstrike Hits Ukrainian Maternity Hospital

https://time.com/6156357/russia-airstrike-ukraine-hospital/

"(Mariupol, Ukraine) — A Russian airstrike devastated a maternity hospital Wednesday in the besieged port city of Mariupol amid growing warnings from the West that Moscow’s invasion is about to take a more brutal and indiscriminate turn. Ukrainian officials said at least 17 people were wounded in the attack.

The ground shook more than a mile away when the Mariupol complex was hit by a series of blasts that blew out windows and ripped away much of the front of one building. Police and soldiers rushed to scene to evacuate victims, carrying out a heavily pregnant and bleeding woman on a stretcher."

“Today Russia committed a huge crime,” said Volodymir Nikulin, a top regional police official, standing in the ruins. “It is a war crime without any justification.”

“There are few things more depraved than targeting the vulnerable and defenseless,” British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted, adding that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be held “to account for his terrible crimes.”

Ukraine is begging for help from NATO,

Short of full military intervention by NATO I was wondering what else could be done to deescalate this conflict,

Sanctions seem not to have any effects at least not right away,

Establishing a no fly zone by NATO means shooting at Russian aircrafts which will escalate the situation further,

Sending fighter jets and heavy weapons to Ukraine without direct support by NATO is probably going to make Russia even more aggressive in its attacks,

A humanitarian catastrophe of unseen magnitude is currently in the making as all the major cities are under siege and being bombed nonstop while people are trapped and are starting to run out of food and supplies,

What is the World going to do about all this,

Where is this all going to end up in six months, a year, or 5 years along the road,

I recently saw the politicians in England give the Ukrainian president a standing ovation after hearing his speech,

But that made me feel sorry for him because that was like giving someone a standing ovation for making his last statement before he is hanged.

What would the future generations make of all that is taking place right now.

IMO

After air war loss, the new strategy of ukrainian forces is to draw russians into urban battles, followed by:

a) colossal civilian casualties
b) destroying of cities infrastructure

the same exact strategy was already used by the islamists in syria and more than once, for example:

during 2011-2012, Al-Qaeda militants managed to destroy the syrian cities by provoking the assadites into carpet bombing and shelling them - as a result 2+ million refugees and starving people.. =(

NATO can end what's happening in Ukraine more or less instantly, but NATO also have to look at this, Putin's existence on earth as already caused the pain and death of millions throughout his life and if there's a higher power, he's got to some day answer for that on his day of judgement, question is he bothered if millions turn into billions, he doesn't look like he's lost too much sleep over those millions so that is something NATO and the world can't play around with.

Nuclear war other than people living in bunkers for 1 to 5 years until radation clears, earth's whole eco system with be gone (animals/plants everything) - Horrible as it sounds, you have to just let it play out and give the tools Ukraine needs to defend itself.

Each missile Russia fires makes them weaker, each day they spend in Ukraine makes them weaker, each tank/jet Russia loses makes them weaker, let Russia destroy themselves without firing a single bullet, i know that is not great for Ukraine, but the alternative is much worse.

Zelenskyy is open to concessions in dialogue with Russia... a wise decision IMO.

"Regarding NATO, I have cooled down regarding this question long ago after we understood that NATO is not prepared to accept Ukraine." Zelensky added, "The alliance is afraid of controversial things and confrontation with Russia. I never wanted to be a country which is begging something on its knees. We are not going to be that country, and I don't want to be that president."

instead of just backing out of the NATO Allegiance in the beginning, Zelensky has now backed out, not before he trashed Ukraine and a lot of death.

Correction, after bombing urban areas, Russians lay seige to Ukraine cities and continue bombing.

Correction, Putin trashed Ukraine.

Russia's military involvement so far has been embarrassing. They don't even have air supremacy still.
Where is their good equipment, not their old USSR junk on the ground and in the skies?

So much for this big, bad military.

There is no chance they actually want to face the US/NATO. It would be a complete wipeout.
That is the reason they are trying to threaten nukes. It is from a place of weakness, not strength.

This is a video representing Russia's propaganda, and victim blaming.

Complete nonsense. Trying to blame the victim for the aggression of the tyrant. What is this bizarro world?

Considering what Putin faces if he just stops right now, I doubt he will stop now, with the sanctions, today 695 McDonalds , Coca Cola , Starbucks and the list goes on have removed themselves from Russia, Unless all the sanctions are reversed on Russia, The ending to all of this looks grim, Russia will be broker than Haiti with the sanctions, Putin is pretty unhinged right now, if he decides to end it all with Nukes , we wont be typing on here anymore.

I'am just stating facts, not blaming, Putin stood down waiting for Zelensky to call off the NATO Allegiance before Russian military began moving into Ukraine.

Yep, him and his people are facing the repercussions for those actions. AKA actions have consequences.

They are not going to actually "win" anything in Ukraine. Even if they take over it will not be accepted by the people or the world, and they don't have sufficient resources to control a country of that size long term.

Russia will be bankrupt in short order. I hope it was worth it.

Putin put Russia in this no-win situation with this folly in the first place.

No, you are simply providing a justification for a tyrant's actions.

The action is based on far more than this "NATO" stuff. That is just a convenient excuse.

There are absolutely no legitimate reasons for Russia to be doing what they are now.

Like I said before there is no mechanism to lift sanctions.

Western countries have a habit of leaving sanctions around for years. The companies that left will be in no rush to do business with Russia again, especially now they are making it so you can't move foreign funds out and are threatening to nationalize private property from those companies.

The sanctions are bad, Russia's self-sanctions only make it that much worse for them.

The rest of the world will adapt their supply chains over time. Russia will be left behind.

US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said Wednesday that the export controls that have been leveled against Russia by the United States and its allies in response to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine have “no expiration date.”

“We’re in it for the long haul and our allies are in it for the long haul,” Raimondo told CNN, adding that the Biden administration is prepared to stick with the measures designed to inflict economic pain on Russia for “as long as it takes.”

“There’s no expiration date,” Raimondo said. “We’re in it to win it and our allies are too.”

China will throw Russia a lifeline... for kopeks on the ruble.

The Russian empire will contract. Emboldened by Ukraine, smaller countries will break away from the state. IMO

They will probably be around to scoop up their assets for "pennies on the dollar" when they collapse like what happened with the USSR.

When their country defaults (likely in short order), there are not going to be too many other options.

You could write a novel on it, and there are many good articles written by much more intelligent people than me on the subject.

In summary, Putin and other Russian leaders are not happy with their lack of importance and relevance in the modern world. Many there seem to have some grand designs of a resurrected USSR in power and importance.

Ukraine is the first step in that pursuit.

They were going in regardless.

The russian Hitler is constantly and directly shelling civilians on purpose. Daily massacring innocent people, and besieging big cities to starve their people.
It is very clear at this point that the russian Hitler is totally deranged.
Every new day there will be new sanctions from the West, and new bombings of civilians by the russian mass murderer.
We are watching live the daily massacre of Ukrainians. I don't know for how long this will be "accepted" by the rest of the world.
Putin is an unscrupulous murderer and I really don't know how this will end, but meanwhile ukrainians will be daily suffering the murderous madness of the russian Hitler. I totally understand Ukraine's president asking everyday for a "no fly zone" to the West. Ukraine civilians are literally being murdered everyday.
