I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

IMO

In such a war, it's not just human life at risk, it'll literally kill massive parts of planet earth, for decades to come. A few nukes from any destination are capable of that.

Even India and Pakistan have enough nukes to finish the planet.

Nevertheless the fact that they were willing to shoot at a Nuclear Power Plant and the way that they are shooting at the civilians it just shows that there are no limits as to how far they are willing going to go to reach their goals.

As mentioned, table-talk won't cut it. Which reinforces the fact that one cannot negotiate with a tyrant.

conventional weapons such as tanks and fighter jets (and even soldiers) are not going to be needed by a modern army anymore if you have the means to destroy the Whole World.

Drones have been a game-changer in the modern military arena. China is paying close attention too.

What I read is US at 761B and China 261 B Russia at 46 B.

These are 2019 figures.
Military Balance 2022 report

1) United States - $754bn

2) China - $207.3bn

3) United Kingdom - $71.6bn

4) India - $65.1bn

5) Russia - $62.2bn

Many countries will be upping defence now though (espcially NATO countries).

For everyone else in the World Nuclear missiles are considered to be defensive weapons, but when it comes to Russia there are no guarantees that they might not use them as offensive weapons.

Not really,

It's not how much NATO Countries spend, what matters is how fast they can modernize their armies.

A lot of the money spent on military is just to get the economy going and it might not really have that much to do with military readiness.

A potent and formidable army is streamlined to be fully automated.

Does anyone have a opinion on the global demand for domain names given the current fucked up situation and beyond.

If you want to be tough on Russia, then put your money where your mouth is and quit whining about gas prices.

You have no idea how much we pay for fuel in the north. One of the reasons I've gone off-grid - plus the feeling of energy independence.

American energy Independence is key to our security. Renewable energy isn't efficient or affordable. You can't run an economy on solar panels and wind power.

When crude oil is$130 / barrel, it funds countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Venezuela, Russia, all except VE are fighting wars / proxy wars.

High fuel prices drive inflation, supply chain problem and it's a negative outcome. We would be better off taxing every barrel of crude produced domestically to expand clean energy research.

There are NO good reasons for a government created energy and supply chain shortages.

Germany are planning to spend 100 billion euros on defence a change in policy since the second world war, yes I agree the effects of that won’t be felt instantly and needs to be built up, but it’s a start.

I’m from UK and whilst UK’s defence budget is always quite high (we invest a lot on tech), there has that been many cuts due to not seeing the threat from Russia and thinking the main threat for the foreseeable future comes from Islamic extremism.

UK’s budget is end of this month, I can see $100billion+ being put aside for defence too.

Ps:- I take no joy in allied nations (any nation) investing huge amounts of money on weapons of war, I would much rather it go somewhere else, but it clearly needs to be done.

I thought having the worlds most powerful military was the key to your security.

They were still wars waging when oil was in the negative. Just be thankful you're not paying in Rubles.

On this we agree; however, it requires the desire for and policy change, even Saudi Arabia aims for 50% renewables by 2030. If energy independence is key to US' security, green energy ought to be made priority.

There are NO good reasons for a government created energy and supply chain shortages.

Who said it was government created? We're coming out of a pandemic, and besides the war in Ukraine, demand is up. I expect the cost of products to double.

Besieged by the russian Hitler troops, Mariupol #Ukraine is on the edge of humanitarian catastrophe. No humanitarian convoy can get to the city left without water, heating & electricity.

Russia continues holding hostage over 400.000 people in Mariupol, blocks humanitarian aid and evacuation. Indiscriminate shelling continues. Almost 3.000 newborn babies lack medicine and food. I urge the world to act! Force Russia to stop its barbaric war on civilians and babies!

Ukraine war: Chernobyl radiation fears as minister calls for Russia to allow for urgent repairs

https://news.sky.com/story/ukraine-...r-russia-to-allow-for-urgent-repairs-12561615

On Twitter, he added: "After that, cooling systems of the storage facility for spent nuclear fuel will stop, making radiation leaks imminent."

"The decommissioned Chernobyl nuclear plant is the site of the world's worst nuclear disaster in April 1986.

The Ukrainian authorities said with emergency generators currently supplying back-up power, the outage could put systems for cooling nuclear material at risk.

The cause of the damage to the power line serving Chernobyl was not immediately clear, but it comes amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The site has been under the control of Russian troops since last week."

The only electrical grid supplying the Chornobyl NPP and all its nuclear facilities occupied by Russian army is damaged. CNPP lost all electric supply. I call on the international community to urgently demand Russia to cease fire and allow repair units to restore power supply 1/2

Ukraine war: President Zelenskyy says no-fly zone is needed to avert humanitarian catastrophe as thousands flee in ceasefire

https://news.sky.com/story/ukraine-...-civilians-to-escape-besieged-cities-12561362

"Russia uses missiles, aircraft and helicopters against us, against civilians, against our cities, against our infrastructure. It is the humanitarian duty of the world to respond," he said.

A temporary ceasefire to allow civilians to escape from besieged cities is in place in parts of Ukraine - despite Russia failing to honour pledges in previous days."

Smart ass.

They were still wars waging when oil was in the negative. Just be thankful you're not paying in Rubles.

I'll pass that on to the uber and lyft drivers trying to feed their families, pay insurance and rent.

On this we agree; however, it requires the desire for and policy change, even Saudi Arabia aims for 50% renewables by 2030. If energy independence is key to US' security, green energy ought to be made priority.

We may agree on the big picture but not on the details.

Who said it was government created? We're coming out of a pandemic, and besides the war in Ukraine, demand is up. I expect the cost of products to double.

I'm going to explain it like you're Joe Biden. Oil production in the USA is down 1.5 million barrels a day since you were elected. Fuel prices were up over 40% before Russia invaded Ukraine. That's just the first 14 months of your weak leadership.

If democrats election strategy is to tell working class, blue collar workers struggling to take care of their families to suck it as they fly from coast to coast in private jets and pay for personal security from their congressional budget.. it's working, keep it up.

Send grievances to the fossil fuel complaint department. Would you trade places with Ukraine?
