I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

We need to go past the current EVs and start making more sEVs

Solar Powered EVs

IMO
Sounds great, in theory.

I have some experience with solar panels, and I am not sure the technology is there yet. You generally need a large surface area of solar panels to generate significant energy.

Also, even solar panels use a lot of dirty, non-renewable energy in their creation as well as some toxic materials and pollutants.

Ideally you could use renewable energy to create renewable energy, but that still is a long way off.

...I even contacted Mr.Trump office and did not receive a reply until today.

The reason is simple the governments of the world don't want something that is not profitable, the most profitable is something that has an end like Gas, Coal and Petrol, they don't need free endless energy.
Even if I ask you today, hey people are you ready to finance my free energy project?

It appears to me your allegiances are scewed. Why not make a proposal to your fearless leader?

Free energy. LOL

Free energy is complete pseudoscience nonsense. It has been worked on by some of the most brilliant minds in history. It is impossible as it violates the laws of thermodynamics and physics.

...too busy building pipelines and bombs 😶
I think you are on to something...solar powered bombs?

Sure they cause all the same damage, but are much cleaner to produce.

“There is a move to re-Sovietize the region,” Clinton lamented.

“It’s not going to be called that. It’s going to be called customs union, it will be called Eurasian Union and all of that,” she said, referring to Russian-led efforts for greater regional integration. “But let’s make no mistake about it. We know what the goal is and we are trying to figure out effective ways to slow down or prevent it.”

People are about to get alot more exercise... I like my solar-powered ATV fat-bike (y)

Another issue with solar panels at the moment is solar waste.

The panels get old, and very few of them are recycled.

Only about 10% of panels in the US are recycled—it isn't mandated by federal regulations, and recycling the devices is currently much more expensive than just discarding them.

Much of the material can be recycled, but is not. So you basically have billions of panels globally that are just waste.

All these renewable energies have their own issues as well. They are not magic.

Yeah, well we live in reality. Sometimes reality has hard decisions.

1.) First of all gas prices were lowest during a pandemic. No shit. People were not traveling much and many companies closed their doors. Demand was lowest.

Gas prices have gone up mainly because we are coming out of a pandemic. Most is based on actual supply & demand.
No.

The first thing Joe did was cancel the Keystone Pipeline, then cancel nearly 40K leases. Many of the 9K available leases the Biden admin keep referencing are encumbered, difficult to drill or develope.

You know as well as I do, the market is driven by speculation. Biden team wants high prices to encourage "renewable" energy that isn't really renewable.

2.) The vast majority of recent movements have just been speculation based on fear. There is no magic bean for fear when the world is potentially on the verge of WW3.

This shortage is a political choice.

I am sorry that someone has to sacrifice for a larger cause. That is just the reality.

At, the same time I am also open to better energy policies as well. To me that includes generating more energy to fit the current needs, and transitioning to more renewable energy over time.

Brad

Sitting down with energy producers, announcing the opening new leases with a goal of energy independence would drop prices $1 -- $1.50 gallon at the pump by summer.

What was the point in canceling new LNG stations?

It's poor leadership.

She was right. When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, there is likely to be friction. So far, the two sides have been able to keep at arms length, but can anyone argue that Putin's war with Ukraine is also a USA proxy war?

Well, in fairness the unstoppable force (Russia) is meeting the immovable object (Ukraine).

If they are losing so many resources there do they really want to go to war with the much better manned and equipped US/NATO & others coalition? I seriously doubt it.

There is a reason Russia is making nuclear threats. They would never want that war to happen.

You can see it started trending up when Trump was still president. You can also see some dips when COVID was at its peak. Look at the end of 2021/2022 for instance where Omicron was at peak.

The chart also starts at an unfairly low point, during a pandemic. There were times when gas was around $3/gallon on average under Trump in 2018. Pre-pandemic it was about $2.70 (2020).

You can't deny that demand is higher outside a pandemic that during a pandemic when people are not moving as much, many companies have been closed.

Though, the point about higher gas prices encouraging a path towards renewable energy might have some merit to it. As far as the "renewable" part I had a few recent posts about that.

Currently, many of the renewable energies are not as clean as advertised. It would take time and new breakthroughs in technology to make major strides.

Agreed, Ukraine has held their ground, but this is just the first wave of Putin's attack. He launched with old equipment thinking he could walk right in. Now that he has taken the West's gambit, he's all in and will double down on the war attrocities with his new weapons and neither EU nor NATO will be able to avoid a direct conflict.

IMO.

Perpetual Energy is a technology that has been suppressed and ignored for several decades now.

It's not against the laws of physics because you are not making energy out of thin air you are just making it out of sources that perhaps are not very visible like the electromagnetic forces surrounding the Earth or the small forces between molecules.

Nevertheless it's something that needs to be looked at because it can solve almost all our energy problems overnight.

I’ve just been thinking about Putin, it’s strange but in the west there was that ‘respect’ there towards Putin where you thought powerful leader, who always outsmarted many countries and presidents over the years.

Everything from the Salisbury poisonings, interfering in US elections, having Russian bots all on Twitter, having Donald Trump wrapped around his finger, even Crimea, he got away with that in some ways putting it down to ‘pro- Russian separatists’ but with invading the whole of Ukraine It is like he’s lost his power, Joe Biden’s got all the power over him now, even Boris Johnson and all other leaders around the world, they all have power over him.

The whole macho image he’s tried to build for himself over the years is now lost, the world see Zelenskyy as this powerful leader now, something he didn’t even want and everything Putin wanted to be.

Perpetual energy/motion is the sister of free energy.

All matter is made of energy. Can you convert one form of energy to a different form of energy? Sure.

But there are many reasons whey perpetual energy / perpetual motion machines can't exist.
One reason for instance is there is always energy loss when one form is converted to another.

Currently, many of the renewable energies are not as clean as advertised. It would take time and new breakthroughs in technology to make major strides.

Side note - something I came across recently:

These 12-mile-deep holes could convert power plants from fossil fuel to geothermal

Using a new technology that employs energy waves to melt rock, the wells can do deeper than standard geothermal, potentially making the renewable energy work anywhere on earth.

Iceland was one of the first countries to move to 100% renewable electricity, in part because it was able to tap into geothermal energy from its unique volcano-filled geology. In many other places, that energy isn’t as readily available. But a new technology could make geothermal power accessible anywhere—and the company is aiming for one specific use case: putting the geothermal wells at power plants that currently run on fossil fuels.

Quaise Energy, a startup that just raised a $40 million Series A funding round led by Safar Partners, uses “millimeter wave” drilling systems to go as far as 12 miles underground—that’s 3 to 5 times deeper than typical oil and gas drilling—reaching a layer of rock which is more than 700 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat can be used as a constant power source essentially anywhere on the planet.

Both wind and solar are intermittent sources of energy, meaning that they aren’t always available (the sun obviously doesn’t always shine), and storing that renewable energy in batteries is still fairly expensive. Wind and solar also take up quite a bit of land. If geothermal power can be affordable anywhere, it could help fill an important gap in getting to 100% renewable electricity.
