into the top 90 nTLD extension now (passed up .Global) and is sitting at about 9,800+ domains sold. The information was last updated on the 25th, so they could be anywhere today.

With a little nearly 10k domains sold and still going up, I hope people got some good names. The ROI on this could be pretty good if the extension continues to move up.

I agree with you there and that is one of the reasons why I do not own any.
I made the point of mentioning .Global because they actually have some sort of marketing campaign (unlike many of the other extensions), so they stand out a bit in recognition. If .global would cut the price point in half, keep the same marketing, they would probably be a contender but as it is, .Work has passed them up quickly and is are actually being utilized more then .global with 5,940 (61.48%) parked domains.

I am just going off of shear numbers. Take it for what you will.

So I was looking at the numbers, and something popped out at me.
.Work is now in the top 80 of nTLDs with over 11,300 domains sold.
What is really cool, when you look deeper in to the numbers is that only 2,506 (21.99%) of the domains sold are being parked (well less then 1/4th). That is a good stat.
The other thing that pops up is that Godaddy is the number 1 registrar for sales of this domain but they only have 28.91% of the sales share. The remaining 61.09% is divided among 57 other registrars.

Why do I bring this up? Because another shining star right now (.Science) has hit the spotlight in a big way with nearly 37,000 domains sold.
When you look at the numbers however, they are not impressive to me. Only 1 registrar has nearly all of the registrations. Alpsnames has 33,776 (91.40%) of the names registered. The remaining 8.6% is divided among 47 other registrars. We all know why this is.
The other number that sticks out is the 33,776 (91.40%) of the sold domains are parked.

So not only did people get names for free, but then they parked them. I have a funny feeling that this extension is going to founder in the future (around renewal time).
.Work on the other hand, is giving all indication of going on strong so they be be around for a bit.

According to nTLDstats, it seems like .WORK will probably break into the top 70 new gTLDs this weekend. Currently it is sitting at #71 with over 12,300 domains sold. The part that I am keeping an eye on is the fact that still less then 1/4th of the domains that have been purchased are parked., only 2,915 (23.57%) so to date.
I admit, that my 4 domains are parked as I am not really messing around with building things out at the moment. Still seems that other people are doing things with the domains, Bravo Zulu to them.

All of the top tld's are taken, and it's a very common phrase/job title for over the road trucking. May make a good domain to develop a over the road truck driving jobs website, or something related if someone is searching for over the road work.

nTLDstats now has the .Work extension in the top 60 new TLDs (currently in the 57 spot) with over 14.5 k domains sold. It keeps moving up and is sold extension with only 28.87% of the names parked so its being used.

We will have to see how it rolls out.
To be honest, I am part of the problem at the moment, my names are parked as I am not ready to build them out. I wish I had gotten more. They are well worth the speculation.

Hmmm... Work just made a pretty decent jump into the top 45 nTLDs.
With 17,724 domains sold and 4,793 (27.04%) domains parked, it is still putting up some impressive numbers (in my opinion).

When did this domain become GA?
This thread started on Feb 10 (so it had to be around that time frame).
Like it or hate it, you have to concede that it is putting up some pretty good numbers.

Its been a little while since I played with my domains (:D). I decided to check out nTLDstats today and saw that .Work has seen a bit of a surge (as far as ranking goes) in the last two weeks. It has jumped a few spots and is now ranked at #37... and at the current rate of growth... will probably take over the #36 spot in short order.

It has been growing constantly with no signs of slowing down.
I maintain that this has the potential to be a wining extension at its current path.

Just checking in and it seems that .WORK is still growing strong.
The last time I checked in, it was on course to take over the #36 spot. It has succeeded in doing that and then some.

Currently .WORK is in the top 20 nTLDs and sits nice and comfortable at the #18 spot. It does still continue to grow (about 100+/- new names per day) and still sits at around 23.4% of the domain names being parked.
I will state it again, it is telling me that a majority of the names are being utilized in some fashion which bodes well for the extension as a whole.

Its fairly short (4 letters), its cheap, people seem to be using it.
It may be too early to call for sure, but I think given current trends, this one may be around a while.

Minus the 100k Net.Work sale.... that is still pretty good prices considering that people bought the names at about $2 per (I am assuming that the names were not bought at premium prices... I have not looked it up).

The ROI on that is outstanding!
At $8 you made 400% (or 4x the money speculated), $80 you get 4,000%, and at $800 that is 40,000%.
(assuming my math is correct)... That is a hell of a markup!!!
Even at the $115... you are still looking at over 5,000% ROI

Just food for thought.
