Hi,

I was wondering if short words with a number before or after them have any value โ€“ that is for .Coms only.
And does the value vary with the actual number?
For example:
1cat.com
Cat5.com
Hot1.com
7Hot.com
8Jet.com
Dad3.com

Thanks for any advice.

I prefer domains with number after letters.

From my experience, the only ones with value are;

keyword1.com (for the SEO usually)

and

keyword5.com (because it looks like a S)

:imho: of course.

Usually no value. However Cat5.com would as Cat 5 is a type of ethernet cable.

Here's another idea we think has a future...

Numbers That Works is about new ideas because we came up with domains that look like phone numbers and/or are translated using a phone keypad ~ Thus 'Numbers That Work'

Our best example is using the keyword 'pizza'.
1-Pizza.com (1-Dash dot com Format)
1-Pizza.mobi (1-Dash dot mobi Format)
1-74992.com (74992 spells Pizza on a phone keypad)
1-74992.mobi (1-Dial dot mobi Format - uses number)
The 1- mimics a phone number so it's a great memory trigger for people using a phone to connect to the web.

At the end of the day, will people that own 1-Dash Domains value them at PPC or as a marketing tool for mobile surfers?

Or you may want to look for domains with 1st at the end.

e.g. example1st.com etc...

the short domains with numbers will become more valuable like 1gif or 1jpg.com

Thanks for the opinions guys - it's quite difficult to value some of the names out there.

Good luck staffjam!

Hey diddie?
What's the reasoning behind:
the short domains with numbers will become more valuable like 1gif or 1jpg.com

What's the reasoning behind:
true that i didnt' totally expressed what i wanted to say, i meant if that short domains like the 4 letters that are actually hot and will remain hot in future are good domains to use a number before if the keyword is really good

I think it depends on the name, for example, Xbox360.com

Prefer the Keyword # like LCD0.com or net2.com

I have about 100 of these - and I've been selling for $50 - $380, though sales have slowed in general.

However I notice buyers have contacted me to purchase as choices for short domains are rare - I've sold domains with "Tow", "Vet", "Car", "One", "Fat" and a few more - that as far as I know for most - correspond with a business' tel or toll free numbers's last four digits (like 416-872-2VET) I think some may have rebranded their online presence to the aquired domains. I know there's value for these for end-users, even if domainers are stuck on some awful LLLL.com's that are not nearly as brandable.

I am going to develop a few to some extent and sell them differently than rest. Thinking of doing:

2CDN.com (canadian portal "too canadian, eh")
TKO0.com (boxing)
0GUT.com (weight loss - would match with perfect num such as: 1-800-555-0GUT)
4KIN.com (ie: search.4kin.com)
ROW0.com (ticket sales/info - "Row zero...get closer than 1st row"
INN0.com (cheap hotel info)
6TWO.com - still thinking about this one

these are ones would be harder to sell unless I can show how I can be used - then people realize how a short brandable domain like these would be so beneficial.

Think about it, for a tow truck company...having something like TOW3.com and 1-888-303-TOW3 written on their truck is much more memorable than perhaps the company name; AbramsTowingServices.com 416-533-5319

I am going to raise my prices for these, regardless of the domainer market - as I see the end-user market is eager to purchase these domains as long as they fall under $1000, so my base price will now be $80 for least desirable

BTW - if you have HOT1.com I would appraise at price of don't sell under $12,000

We have 1-Vegas.mobi for sale at TDNAM and just raised our price to the max because of the really stupid names that have 'vegas' in them.

1-vegas.mobi is among the 1% of the shortest names in the list of about 3000 names for sale and it looks like a phone number.

We had valued 1-vegas.mobi lower because vegas.mobi only sold for $18K last month but we'll sit on it if we have to.

It just makes sense...

I have some LLLN's that get nice typo traffic. Many of the good ones are gone though. Think about Eba6 or Eba7 or 3bay, these probably get a lot of type-in traffic for ebay, just bsaed on where they are on the keyboard.

I only have few.
2us.net - highest offer I got is $5K, I think.
I did not sell it because I am the end-user, well, eventually ;)

I have LLL# pending sale for $x,xxx to the end-user.
Domain is only worth what buyer is willing to pay and
what seller can part it with.
