Hello All,

Being a newbie, I often here about the importance of the short name when it comes to value.
I believe that all or most four letter .coms have gone - and probably all of 5,6 and seven letter words that make any sense. (what are the most letters in a name, generally regarded as a practicable acronym, before it becomes nonsense)?

I was thinking of the amount of letters used after a popular Keyword. If we accept that it would be impracticable to use more than 3 or 4 letters as an acronym after that keyword, that must drastically reduce the number of practicable amount of one syllable words to be used after that keyword.

Ah, but say those 5 and six letter words have no connection with the first part of the word, do people buy a .com of this kind, simply because of its brevity? (I mean buy for investment)

I wouldn't. There are so many combinations of words that don't go together. If I was going to go down that path I prefer the thought of finding one descriptive word and a second word that can go together but nobody has registered together.
