With my website and using wordpress I put tags down. These create pages which display all the posts that I've used those tags on (usually just one post).

So for instance, this:

eparty.info/types-of-wine-tasting-parties/

shows the same as

eparty.info/tag/wine/
eparty.info/tag/wine-price-tests/
eparty.info/tag/wine-tasting/

and so on. The first URL only shows the post, where as the other ones would show anything with these tags (if there was anything else).

From a SEO point of view should I remove this tags thing, will it look like lots of duplicate content on the site?

On the up side at the moment google seems to be indexing them all and it allows people to find the site from a lot of different search terms (as the tags create new page titles).

You should disable the indexing of that URL's from robots.txt if you are worried about it.

There are many opinions out there for this. Some say it is good and we should use descriptive tags and some say they lost their rankings after they added the tags.

One thing from Google says, that it does finds the right page whether in archive, printable version, tag page, search page etc... itself.

You can refer to the official post here: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2007/09/google-duplicate-content-caused-by-url.html

i'd limit crawlers from getting to tag pages, and maybe even archived pages depending on the structure of your website, how often content is updated, etc.
