Important: If you choose to transfer this domain name to another registrar within the first 10 days following the date of this notice, you risk losing part of your new registration term. No refunds or credits will be issued in that event.
There is no 60 days ICANN policy when the domain isn't registered anew.
What I interpret this to mean is that the renewal I just paid for in the purchase price might not be actually be renewed if I transfer out within the first 10 days. After that no problem, I get the renewal I paid for plus the addition of 1 year with the transfer.
Exactly. Because the expired domain was auto-renewed with the registry. Since the auto-renew may be canceled within 45 days, it's typical for registrars to begin auctions around 35 days after the domain has expired. If the domain gets no bids, they let it go into redemption, the auto-renew is canceled and they get a refund from Verisign.I think it means the one-year registration extension included with a snapnames winning bid might not carry over if you transfer the domain too quickly.
