Have you ever sold Woman`s name in .com? For how much?

I dont want to disclose exact name, but could tell that exact monthly search is low, only 73. It is woman`s name with 8 letters in .com.

I found MANY LinkedIn profiles with that name, and many Google results. There are plenty of potential endusers, but I would like to know how much are worth woman`s personal names in .com?

What should be some average price for not searched name? Thanks

Alice.com sold for $250,000.

The theory here, is that you should visualize that your buyer "should" be engaged in business that will allow him to recover the cost he would pay for the domain.

For most practical uses, girls will probably just use it for their blogsites or ebay-type small-scale commerce selling earrings, pendants, nail polish, etc. Most likely $300 worth for the domain.

Vanity domain use, is a wild card. There's just no telling how crazy some rich people are out there willing to pay you.

As alien51 mentioned, it's a wildcard, just like domaining in general - it'll boil down to just how much someone wants it.

Past sales for a particular first name are not going to be indicative of what other names go for.

There's going to be two kinds of end users - the average person who actually has that name - or a company who wants to brand it for commercial use. And there's no telling what they'll go with if they can just pick an alternative name for cheaper.

Many .com's I've seen are just parked. However alot of the cctld names I've personally seen are for the average person with a blog. These end users aren't going to be paying premiums for it.

If they can't afford it, they'd be just as happy to go with their nickname, First Name last initial, or full name if you ask for too much.

If you think the name has potential... hold onto it for the long term and see what interest there is by the types of inquiries you get.

That's because Domainers outnumber End-Users by a ratio of 850,000 to 1.

Firstnames can be a great brand for business. Unfortunately, many business-minded people who may want to use firstnames for their brand, could be just startups. So they might not have the money to pay galactic fees to a domainer. Wendys, McDonalds, and Arbys, all have had their brands TM'ed, before they got their domains.

And nowadays, firstnames can give the impression of being a legit business. Because there is already a stigma on "exact-match domains" being spammy and low quality content sites.

Your dilemma, is actually whether you should also reg the firstname with an "S" in the end: For example: WENDY dot com, and WENDYS.com and shut-out the choices.
