Well, got a very good bite today on one of my names. It seems that Tiger Country 100.7 FM out of Baton Rouge, LA is interested in aquiring tigerradio.com from me. Got a call from their office asking if I would be interested in selling it. Anyway, the GM is going to call me this evening to discuss.

Not sure what it would be worth to him, but I'm going to get what I can and run! Well, it has to be reasonable of course.

Yes, Good Luck! :)
Once you complete the sale and transaction, please do come back here and share the full story with the "community" ... not only do we want to hear how it went for you, but I think it could be a good lesson/experience for newer members, as well.
I think the "oldies" might even take interest. :p
Thanks.

A good name. GROOOOOOWWL

Would be worth something to Tiger Country FM. I would have paid 5k atleast if I owned the broadcast company.

Let Tiger Country FM make the first offer and do not accept it immediately unless it is in the $5k range :)

Good LUCK!!!!

Outstanding! That's a "serious" lead for sure & they contacted you direct.. or did you have any previous communications with them from your end first.. just curious.

Best of Success!

Actually, directly. Rare that happens. in fact, it has only happened to me a few times before, but each of those times were more than likely from resellers. It is now 3:13 PM CST. Haven't heard from the GM yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll update you all ASAP.

Sounds like a winner, don't jump at the first offer. If they ask you to name a price, tell them you really don't have a figure, you just have the name of the market and are taking offers. Tell them you've had a few serious inquireres, but you're still looking. When they give you a figure, you might want to tell them you've already had an offer that was similar to theirs some time ago, but you didn't feel comfortable with the figure Tell them you need to think about it.

You're in a good position, but like RJ always says, "Don't get GREEDY" Everyone loves to offer $500 or $1000 after they contact you, I'm starting to think it's instinct. I just had another $1K offer today for one I'm marketing right now. I'll find out tomorrow what their new figure is, but they are very interested, and every time I get off the phone with them I leave them salivating. If you really want to get into selling, pick up a copy of "Selling to Vito" (very important top officer) by Anthony Parinello. Read the book and you'll enjoy this whole game, Good Luck.

This of course is just my humble opinion.

UPDATE:

Ok, here's the scoop. I did speak with "The Man" and as of right now I am looking at a bare minimum $2k. Not too shabby considering I picked the name up for $7.95. Anyway, he is sweating and so am I at this point. I explained to him that although I am well aware of how this name would benefit his station, (his first mistake was to show the kinda of interest he did) he must also understand my position and realize that he is not the only person I am currently negotiating with. I do expect to hear from him again soon either by phone or email. I basically told him that I would take nothing less than my asking price of $5k. However, it seems that with some telemarketing that my wife has been doing for me, I did get another lead today from someone that is interested in this name also. (She never contacted TigerCountry....got lucky there) . Tigerradioonline.com emailed me this morning and said that they are very interested in the name. So, suddenly this is becoming more interesting by the moment. I'll keep you all posted on the progress.

Would be very nice indeed, but if I do get a $5k offer, I will be most happy!

I know the feeling, I'm betting they come back with a better offer. Maybe not your 5K, but a lot closer. I would take the second offer, don't get greedy, it's a great deal!

I have a good one on the line right now, I think they're going to crap out on me for 1.5K. But yours is a winner! When they make their 2nd offer, ask them if this is a firm offer, and if it is, have them send the offer through [/url]Escrow.com Take a moment to get familiar with Escrow.com if you aren't already. If you...ost always tells me, Steer the Coarse! Don
