Windows Vista has hardly been in the market till now and already the talks for Windows Vienna are already on the show.
Here are some facts I found about the next OS.
* Windows Vienna, during its development process and BETA testing, was known as Blackcomb.
* Windows Vienna, though scheduled to be released after Vista, was originally announced on February 2000 (Long before when Windows Vista was actually announced)
* Blackcomb, The Codename for Windows Vienna, comes from the world consistently rated #1 ski resort Whistler Blackcomb located in Whistler, British Columbia, Canda.
* Sharing the qualities of its Premature Twin Sister (Windows Vista), Vienna has also been subject to major delays and rescheduling.
* Blackcomb got its real name in January 2006.
* Windows Vienna is targetted to be a Revolutionary Release (Bringing Real Innovation) however Windows Vista and all previous versions of Microsoft Windows have been Evolutionary Releases (Following Previous Trends).
* There is no fix Release-Date announced for Windows Vienna yet, however it is planned to be released anywhere between 2009 to 2012.
* We know that Windows Vista brought us only Re-Enhanced and Further-Modified features. However Vienna promises us to bring features that shall be purely new and unseen e.g. GroupBar replaced by Taskbar and Pie-Menu type circular Interface.
* Lot of features originally planned for Windows Vista may become part of Windows Vienna.
* Windows Vienna will be available both in 32-Bit and 64-Bit Editions for the Client Version.
I have to say that the first thing I thought of was Vienna Sausages :D.
