Windows 7 and it's hard drive fetish...

Hi all,

I have always had this issue with Windows 7; as soon as my PC starts booting from the main hdd, Windows 7 likes to switch my external hard drives (and internal slave drive) on and off a good 4 times in a row, very quickly before loading into windows.

It does the same when powering off, but only once with all powered down drives. (I can handle once)

Anyone else have this problem? I don't like my drives switching on and off so many times in a row so quickly... Why Windows does it so many times in a row when loading i have no idea.

I've tried searching around for 'fixes' but they're all totally unrelated issues.

I rarely turn my PC off, but when i do it frustrates me.

-Rhett.

Give it a check to a computer technician. :) They know what is the best thing to do in your desktop.

Something's wrong with your hard drives. Have it checked by a PC tech.

:S, thanks for your comments.

My hard drives are just fine, this is a Windows issue. Why Windows wants to power up and then power down my hdd's 4 times in a row i have no idea. My drives work fine otherwise, and fine on other computers also. Only PC's i've tested with other than mine are XP and they have no issues, power up once only.

Try to uninstall/install windows 7,( lots of work, I know) Maybe it's just the configuration that is wrong:|

Perhaps, i did just order a nice little solid state hard drive hehe so i'll be sticking a fresh copy of win 7 on there, hopefully the issue will be solved.
