US is my second "least" favorite, just a little better than .biz. I much prefer .info as an alternative to com, net, org.

From what I have read and the prices they are already going for I would say in the next one to two years the prices & demand will climb quickly.

I think the new emerging .eu may also help contribute towards this happening JMO :)

Unfortunately I cannot "legally" get any .us domains :'( A while ago for a brief moment it appeared that Beer.us was available but it turned out to be a register problem :td: - Good Luck with yours

I'm not so optimistic about .us. I think the big 3 (com org net) will continue to dominate for the next 3-5 years. Maybe then will .us and others start picking up.
But who knows!

I disagree, I think that .org is losing tremendous value and us is picking up as we speak. I agree that net and com will, but I feel eventually within the next 2 years .org will be like a .name and .us will be more like a .us not a .com

I'd agree with it becoming more and more popular - just need a few big names to pop up w/ .us and BAM

I agree with your disagreement. :) .ORG domains are losing their appeal quickly, and .com/.net are always huge sellers. .EU and .US domains are the next popular extensions next to .com/.net.

.us popularity & value has been growing incredibly fast BUT

I think the order of preference for most US enterprises will remain 1) .com, 2) .net for years to come.

.us may someday take position 2 away from .net for US but it's a big world out there and the rest of the world won't adopt .us unless they have a US presence.

Hello All,

I see great potential for the .us extension. I see it in advertising more and more here in the US, and it's slowly (but surely) growing in use by companies and developers.

Some here have said that .us may replace .org in the great scale of "extension rankings," but I might disagree. .Org is well known world-wide, and is the perfect extension for all things non-profit and for organizations, clubs, and causes.

Behind .com, .org is a great possibility, and .us is a great choice for US related uses. I think the future is rosy for all three, and each has their own strengths!

:) zesty

It will take more time but I think US will be more popular.

Since we are talking about .us has anyone seen any special pricing on .us domains (besides the usual specials that apply to .com)?

.us will become as popular as .net (to usa citizens) when companies start advertising their .us websites on a national scale... I haven't even seen one tv commercial for a .us company that mentioned their .us website.

I agree with Zesty. I think .ORG will remain strong.

I also don't see .US and .ORG as competitors.

,EU is going to be huge as companies in already in Europe will want to have the ,EU extension and also companies in the rest of the world will want to have a .EU extension to get a presence in Europe. If you look at the individual country extensions in Europe and see how particiular names are taken in all those extensions then you can bet your bottom dollar on it that the .EU version of those names will be snapped up. :$: Also .com is being seen more and more by Europeans as an extension with more of an American flavour and thus .EU will give them a stronger sense of market identity.
Have so far Pre-Regged 226 strong generic and sub-generic names which are taken in most of the Europe individual country extensions. Obviously these names are long gone in their .com .net.biz.org.info.us extensions. Have regged these names with 6 different registrars going back 2 months now almost and most of my names are in the NO 1 position in the queue at all of these registrars.
Here,s hoping and holding thumbs.
