Hi,

I am new and looking for to buy a domain and I have been search for some posts.

People sell .com domains at $5 - $8.

My question is when a new .com domain registration is around $10 then how they will sell at $8. It will give a loss right?

Why a loss transaction is need or need for sell. What is the reason behind this?

If The Name Is Not That Good And One Wants To Get Rid Of It, Then Any Money Is Better Than No Money.
Also Sometimes People Just Have Too Many Domains In Portfolio And They Wanna Shed It Or Trim It.

You get what you pay for, so be careful what you pay for :)

Its often when people have owned a name and they cannot sell it, and its been costing them renewals every year and they dont want to pay for it again, so they sell it for whatever they can to get some money back.

Selling at a loss can reduce your losses, as opposed to simply letting it expire.

It's like the old saying that goes 'something is better than nothing'.

There are often names here a domainer is letting go for a few dollars that have age that are decent. You have to be a smart buyer, but from time to time one comes thru worth grabbing...just be sure to do reasonable research on each name no matter the price...I do it whether spending 5, 50 or 500.

Because there are too many fools with money who get involved with domain names (because of the low cost and ease of registration) and many end up with junk and stupid names that have zero appeal and will never have.
As others have said, some money is better than no money.

Some people learn lessons the free and easy way. Other have to learn the hard way, through financial loss. Still others never ever learn at all.

Some people sell domains for less than the registration price, perhaps because they have held the domain for many years and the renewal fee is cheap, or they just want to sell it as soon as possible and recover their funds. There are also some domains that are not in great demand, and sellers choose to sell them at a lower price in order to clear them as soon as possible. In addition, the registrar's promotional activities may also allow buyers to register at a low price and then resell at a low price. In general, these low-price transactions are sometimes for quick cash or inventory clearance, and are not necessarily losses. After all, businessmen will not do business at a loss.

There are many people who buy domains but don't have the slightest clue about business.
