Why did this listing end with no bids?

As a newcomer in the domain realm I want to learn as much as I can and I was wondering about the following:

For the past few weeks I have been following an auction on Flippa for the domain merlotworld.com, without bidding. I thought it was an interesting name, and "merlot" has 60,500 exact searches according to Google Adwords. Merlotworld is short and easy to remember and some end-user could probably make a great site with this domain name. Besides it's a .com . But the listing ended without bids. So I am wondering wether such a name has any interest for domainers? Why wasn't anyone bidding on it? Was it the price tag, with a minimum bid of $ 100? Is it the fact that it's on Flippa, i.e. is Flippa regarded as 'less professional' by the domaining community? Or would it be one has to go through the trouble of looking for an end user? Was the listing not visible enough perhaps (I found it though, more people must have seen it)? Sorry if my questions are somewhat naive, just want to learn the most from you, and I appreciate your response.

On top of all that, I like wine:blink:

It's the price. $100 for "MerlotWorld.com" is just silly. The venue doesn't help -- Flippa's domain market tends to mainly be a "domainers' market" ie. most of the people buying there are planning on reselling, which also tends to have a depressant effect on prices.

But mainly the asking price. I have some [keyword]world.com, [keyword]online.com etc. kind of domains myself, but most of them I'm developing -- it's hard to find end users for such domains, because if one runs the price up so much for [keyword]world.com there's always [keyword]online.com, worldof[keyword].com etc. etc. etc. available for reg fee.
