Domain history

I was thinking about listing something on flippa and it wants to know the history. Is domain history important? And if it is why is it important?

really what is the importance of how old the name is if a name is brandable or has traffic why would the domain history matter?????

Ok i just wasn't sure i see a lot of people posting the age of there domains and i just didn't see the value in it I'm a newbie I'm going to ask 1000 dumb questions I'll close thread thanks for your feedback

Yes, domains history is important for some cases. For example, if your domain is aged, it will be best if you check what content the domain had before, if it had any, mainly because end-users might get uncomfortable with the content the domain had before. And therefore I recommend to dedicate 5-10 mins to check the history. It won't do any harm after all...

BTW there are many reasons why you should check the domain's history.

Ok good to know how would I check history other then Who is? That really only tells me owner info and creation date

I don't think domain age matters a hoot to a domain buyer. They are buying the name because they are going to use it in a business. They might check on archive.org for it's history, but most end-user buyers probably don't know about archive.org.
