So what is reasonable?
You hand register a domain name or acquire it bellow $100 (backorder, dropcatch) and you dream of few thousands dollars, is it reasonable?
it's reasonable, depending on the actual domain name, how long ago you registered or caught it from backorder or bought it from someone else, or how much it earned since you owned it or how many other offers you received that were equal to or much higher than, your offer, etc, etc
Let's say you see 3 CVCV .com up for auction. One has price of $900 (*a*o), one has price of $1300 (*e*i), and the third is make offer (*u*o). You decide to try to get a price on the make offer one, so you send an offer of $1000. Is that a lowball offer? I think that's a reasonable offer.
maybe you should have bought the other (*a*o) that was $900, then you would have $100 left to lowball somebody else.
and....
even if you offered $1k for my name that has an (*u*o), the offer you considered reasonable was not what I considered to be reasonable, given any of the same scenarios i mentioned above.
and the fact that your offer wasn't any higher than what others were offering.
and...if you are submitting offers, just to get a price, then how serious can you be taken?
or do you really want to be taken seriously, when submitting that amount?
maybe you expected or anticipated a counter offer, instead of a "no thanks".
but if you wanted to negotiate, then you should have offered more
because until you do that, there is nothing to discuss.
each domain owner is different, as each name is different, therefore the same approach and the same offer won't work on every seller, for the same category of domain names.
and again, that too is irrespective of any appraisal bot or "current reseller minimum floor market pricing".
there are others though, that have made offers worthy of consideration and i have accepted a couple.
so deals can be done!
imo....
