Why can't people understand what you are asking for in the Domain Names Wanted Forum

I make a clear description of what I want, then I receive offers from 10 different people with domain names no where near what I want, and maybe 2 offers of what I want. I just don't understand this at all. Are people just naive?

People are Naive, they just dont understand. Most of the offers I recieve are from rookies with little experience and understanding. They see all these sales and think they are going to get them simply by posting or PMing you with something similar to your request.

Believe me, its frustrating. On occasion I write back "Did you even read the posting?"...

But, its also part of the game. Few experienced domains are going to go through the wanted section and offer domain names. Ive only sold 1-2 that way, ever.

I feel you, had a similar issue. Something should be made, last time I got over 30 PM's and just a few of them were interesting.

Maybe a system in which the OP receives domains in form of a list (like the NP auction prebid form) with description, registrar etc, and he can make an offer for it, or simply decline the offer without the need for PM'ing back time consuming messages.

If you clearly post what you're looking for - And they do not comply , Report the post(s) and PM(s) ;)

They generally won't do it again -

I asked for a certain kind of LLLL.net. CMCM,CCCM,MCCC,MCMC,MCMC,CMCM type names and I get everything but that. I even had people trying to get me to pay $25-$50 for all premiums or bad CVCV. There are even people who read the thread correctly, but still PMed me acknowledging the fact that it wasn't what I wanted, but they still asked if I wanted what they had.

What pisses me off most about the Domains Wanted Forum is even when you do PM them with on spec domains, nobody has the courtesy to even reply with a "no thanks".

I get that quite a lot. There are some select people that do reply, which I really appreciate.

Stub , I know what you mean - But from experience I can honestly say people often get 20 or 30 PM's real quick ... And it is a bit time consuming to reply to all of those.
Many people put this in their Description not to be offended if they do not contact you.

I don't even bother posting a thread in that section. The one time I did, I got everything except what I was looking for even though I was as specific as one could be. I understand how frustrating it must be for a buyer.

I also fully agree with Stub as I think it is unprofessional to not take a couple of minutes to say no thanks. All one would have to do is copy & paste a simple generic comment as a reply. One could c&p replies in no time. I think them posting in their description is nothing but a cop out.

I agree. It's a matter of courtesy (to those who provide on-spec domains).
