Hello NP,

You are all using particular landers (Afternic, Dan, Sedo, Epik, Efty..etc), can you please explain why are you using that particular lander over the other landers?

For example: Why Afternic, why not Dan? or Why Dan, why not Afternic?

Are there any benefits of using that particular lander?
How will you choose landers (based on extensions or previous domain sales or expert opinions or own experiments)?

50% of my sales are via Afternic (GD search + partners)
50% via Landing pages.

Some people think that by using lower commission landers they are making a big saving. But are they?

For example if 50% of sales come via Dan landers:
20%(lower if higher sales price on Afternic) + 9% (Dan) = 29%/2 = 14.5% only actually saving 5.5% and if you conversions are higher on Godaddy due to the brand recognition you actually lose out.

The commissions on these competitors landers need to come way down to compete with Afternic/GD IMO. 5% or lower.

One added benefit of using custom landers is you can monetize them if they give you that functionality. Our landers allow for monetization. So you can take advantage of the traffic generated. This can be in the form of adsense or affiliate marketing or another profit channel. Domain sales is not the only way to make money with domains.
