The poll question is: Why are you investing in .mobi?

I'm in it for profit, the fun of developing mobile sites, and because I'm bored with the other extensions. Actually not really so much that last part. :lol:

TBH i intended just to develop but ill sell some names
i voted "to develop .mobi websites" cuz this was what i really wanted since im here but as i have many names (many for me i mean) i wont have time to have all developed

In the short term, generally, I think flipping the domains can provide you with some hearty fish.. but, in the immediate term, time with special development and marketing is where lies the hope to be fed for a lifetime..

I started in October as a complete newbie. I realized that it I was too late for large profits by reselling and that I won't develop all names. As I need some cash, I try to sell now the names that I won't develop (even if it's a bad time) and I will sell the ones I intend to developp if I received a good offer. But, I am more excited about developping now.

Number one reason for me. MAKE MONEY.

If I can make it just reselling , great ..... But i am thinking that developing good sites early on will get the best returns , especialy when it comes to selling the names.

How is both a distortion?? Sell some, build some....nothing distorted with that.

Good enough, just seeing 3 now under "Reselling names for a profit" (with lots of folks both aiming for resale and/or developing) feels more balanced, IMHO. :music:

For the sake of the poll I voted for 'reselling at a profit' because I have over 1,000 domains of which I intend to personally develop no more than 100 (& of those 100, over 50%+ will redirect to others so that leaves maybe 30 to 40 I will develop.

Of the other 900 + I hope to sell the bulk of these, 10 - 20% at high margins & the rest are probably just collateral damage to my bank balance

(Who-ever reckons that all their domains come up trumps is lying in my opinion - I never cease to be amazed at some of my own when I re-visit my list - I lost count of the number of times I've asked myself "why the **** did I register that!?"

So I should have answered both really... 90/10 split though.... maybe that would make for a better poll?

Say, for example - what ratio have you registered .mobi for the resale market & to develop?

100% resale (default is 0% develop)
75% resale (default is 25% develop)
etc...
Plus
I have no .mobis

Same here. I don't have many quality .mobis I'd be willing to resell, so I plan on hedging my .mobi developments with investments in other extensions.

I want to develop mine and market it to promote more .mobi awareness and usage. I think we need to join together on this. I am very eager and has always been.

However, my problem is I don't know where to start developing my first one, because I am unfamiliar with coding for wap vs. html so I'm trying to find help to get started. I'm a fast learner!
