status-duplicate Why are there so many low quality domains in the Top section?

I just submitted a domain thats clearly worth more than about half the domains on the front page and it was rejected. I get x,xxx offers for it regularly. Yet there are average LLLL.com's and long weird dictionary.com's that are worth no more than low xxx reseller. I don't want to call out any specific domains but if you have a look it should be clear.

There are some great domains there too but they are in the minority.

What's the deal? If you're friends with a mod do they let your trash through or something?
