.tv Whoops! - Has this ever happened to anyone else?

In connection with last nights the attempt to get as many names on SEDO as possible next week - which I feel may have seriously failed - I awoke in the UK to see a couple of offers to start an auction.

I decided NOT to accept them as they would have meant an end of auction time in the UK of 5am - and one of them was a VERY UK orientated geo.

This afternoon I get another offer on sedo for one of the same names and decided to start an auction as the time suits perfectly. A UK geo going on at 5pm in the UK - which is midday EST and 9 Pacific.

Both offers were just $75 and, even though I chose the second offer, the SEDO system accepted the FIRST offer (with its crazy end time). I sent a ticket to be told there was nothing I could do.

So, I'm now in a situation where a million plus population GEO for the UK is ending before everyone in the UK is even awake.

Has anything ever happened to anyone here?

I did think of reneging on the auction - but have decided that I will still go ahead.



So - For anyone out there thinking of starting an auction - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THE END TIME WILL BE - especially if you already have a similar priced offer in your basket.

Good advice ... on properly "timing" one's auction(s), IMHO. :gl:

Thing is Jeff - I actually thought that was what I was doing.

I clicked the second offer and took that one to auction, but the system timed it to the first offer because they were both at the same price.

I doubt this will happen to many - but what a bummer when it does.

I have gotten multiple offers on the same domain within the 7 day Sedo timeframe and haven't accepted them, or I woulda figured it out the hard way too.

I recall getting an offer once on a Saturday night which I took to auction and recall thinking who is going to be bidding on Saturday night...?
