I noticed GoDaddy offers the option of including WhoIs look-up data with a total count of domain name look-up inquiries as follows:
Current day/week/month
Previous day/week/month
This info is offered for every domain in your portfolio when you export your GoDaddy domain list to a spreadsheet.
I can see how this information would be especially helpful in trying to access the relative value of a "brandable" domain name that was not generated from popular keywords. For example, AIWEAR//DOT//COM had almost 60 WhoIs lookups last month and will likely repeat this month. If I had been considering a drop at renewal time, this information would certainly cause me to reconsider. For many reasons, it would be nice to know when there is sudden interest in a domain name disproportionate from the previous month's data.
I called Moniker customer service this morning and asked whether this same information could be provided on my Moniker portfolio. I was told that this information is not available and that it is information that Moniker does not track.
If anyone from Moniker is reading this post, I would like to suggest that this information be captured for report purposes and be made accessible to your customers.
Does anyone know of a third party source that can provide this information in bulk?
