I recently transferred a couple of domains to Godaddy. But since Godaddy no longer allows DomainTools to display whois data of Godaddy-registered domains, what DomainTools is now doing is displaying the whois information from the previous registrar of the domain.

As a result, if your Godaddy domain is shielded by private whois, DomainTools exposes those information to the world by displaying your whois from your previous registrar. So if you paid GoDaddy for private whois, DomainTools effectively renders your private whois useless.

No, what they do is against Whois TOS and storing private datas without autorization is against the law.
And they are not providing proxified data in this case, they are providing PREVIOUS datas.
And even if DT is showing only 1 whois at a time, they are storing all the previous whois.
Worst thing is that they are not allowing people to not authorize this storage!! They are only offering a $10/day option for DT to not check future whois changes for a specific domain..

I think that DT only deserve to be sued.

DomainTools and GoDaddy Private Registrations

DomainTools has resolved the issue with the updated private registrations not being properly displayed. Go Daddy records will now display only the shortened record or the full, current, record from Go Daddy from a Whois search.

I checked it out and it looks like the Godaddy-DomainTools whois issue, is indeed resolved. Things are now happily back to where it used to be. Thanks.
