RegisterFly have sent me one of their WHOIS Details Confirmation e-mails, but for a domain that isn't mine. Can anyone offer an alternative explanation of this than that it's another RegisterFly error?

Is it a good name? Purhaps you can email them saying that you have 'lost control' of the domain for some reason and ask them to relocate it in to your account :hehe:

Naughty, naughty.

Is the domain in your registerfly account? If so, it may be that someone pushed it there by mistake. This happens, especially with common usernames.

The domain doesn't appear in my RegisterFly account. The e-mail does have me listed as all of the contacts for the domain, though.

It's a decent name, being used for a business, but not top-rate.

And no, I won't be trying to steal it!

Are there any circumstances under which you'd give fake whois info for a domain?

As long as you're listed on a domain name's WHOIS record, you can receive all
and any WHOIS notices from any registrar. They might as well cover all their
bases and play it safe, after all.
