Whois Database Problem

today i try to register domain. whois says its available, checkpagerank.net shows available, godaddy shows unavailable.

alos namecheap shows unavailable, and when check the whois, it says domain still available can be register. but cant register it either. why?

I had the exact same problem with Godaddy about 20 hours ago with a .info

Name was available, but Godaddy said it was taken

Maybe because your provider hasn't registered it yet? Why not check with 'em
first, and that's if they're a registrar with real-time checking.

Namecheap checks for availability in real-time AFAIK. I assume it's a domain that expired recently. It may have been registered not long ago. Many registrars will check for availability of the domain in real time with the registry, however there is a delay of about 24 hours for whois result, hence the discrepancy.
Also it's possible that the domain has been registered for 'tasting' so it could drop within 5 days of registration date. Keep an eye on the domain.

Thanx. I think i got my answer now. but i'm very sad because i loss a PR5 .org domain with more than 10 PR5 Backlinks. Anyway +Rep on the way :bingo:
