Who/What is "Domain Registry Support"?

This morning I got a phone call from some guy at Domain Registry Support (dot com). He wanted my fax number in order to "update my domain info registration" on a long-time domain/website I own.

He kept saying he wasn't trying to sell me anything, and got a little upset when I asked pointed questions about his purpose for calling me and what whois showed about their site. I told him it sounded to me like he wanted to send me fax spam and told him to take a hike.

Has anyone else been contacted by them? Anyone know anything about them?

Looks like one of those companies that sends out the official looking notices that just tell you that another extension of your domain is available. Ignore...
