As most know I'm new to domaining and so far own 18 domains.

How many do you own?

Ah...name consolidation is the domainer equivalent of raking the zen garden...I highly recommend picking a solid registrar (Moniker comes to mind) and moving all your domains there -- makes life much easier! :)

I know. You need to either have lots of cash, or have domains that turn a profit from parking (or set up sites etc.). 1000 domains x 7.99 = $7990 and that's on the cheaper end.

I hold about 225 right now! At highest I had a little over 300 ish

I think one of the largest I have seen is MostWantedDomains.com at least 10's of thousands.

with 101 LLL.com's the last time I checked with many NNN.com's and many LLL.net's org and more

have about 50 at the moment. i would estimate buydomains has in the tens of thousands at least.

a company called Marchex also has a TON - probably also in the upper xx,xxx
you may recall probably around 2 years ago they bought up a portfolio for approx 160 million USD and have been monetizing ever since

Well let's see...I was gonna stop at 10
then 25
then 50 cause I found some I thought were great [cough] [n00b]

but stopping at 100 was gonna be my max!

and now.....
i think I'm just shy of 150 keyowrd being "I think"
which obviously I didn't

Coming up on my first round of renewals, so we'll see what
I end up with when it's over :D

So how do you guys monetize your domains.

Are they all pretty much well chosen so that they get type-in traffic or do you do it in other means?

You can either park or develop your domains. The latter is the best route, but it takes work to do it well.

I've trimmed down from about 700. I'm at about 300 right now.

I have about 1100...too many to really pay the necessary attention to them so they'll sell. :/

i have 54 domains, but most without traffic and i need to develop them, so they already are too many.

I think I have 236, but hey whos counting. I hold most of them for development, but there is just enough parking revenue to pay the renewal fees. And every once in awhile I actually sell one. Sold DVDmonster.com to a Swiss company a couple of months ago for 5005. Should have kept that one, brandable and wide consumer market appeal. Funny, I asked for an appraisal and got 0 responses. The value in that one was obvious :)

I now have 158. In retrospect I wish I had just grabbed a few and developed them.
My new stratagy buy 1 develope 1 continue and repeat.
Of course learning how to develope a website is a process in and of itself.
