i originally bought animalclub.org then later found out that animal-club.com was availiable which was weird considering both animal-club.net and animal-club.org were taken... which would you suggest using for a site. i know hyphens are bad but picked it up anyhow...

Assuming you're using it for something that even semi-fits the .org extension, use the .org :)
Just :imho:

I'd go for the org as well, try to avoid hyphens when you can :)

Use the .org and redirect the .com with the hyphen.

I don't think that hyphens are that bad, but i think you should use the .org and sell the .com maybe?

I dont think hyphens are bad, but I feel the .org extension would better fit the domain in this case :tu:

Same here i think you should keep both but make the .org the main one and redirect the .com one to it :)

hope it goes well :)

i'm not a big fan of hyphens, so suggest just taking animalclub.org!

With the domain you have. And are going for. The .org extension fits better. I'd say .org all the way. "-" ugh, lol

.org IMO

Hyphens seem to invoke a certain bane from domaineers when the issue is brought forth. Iโ€™m not as knowledgeable as the previous posters but hyphenated domains always appear to do fairly well in the Serps so it would be somewhat less cut and dried for me.

Definitely the .org.

I would have chosen the .org, even if it had a hyphen also. Organization sounds better at the end, much better than commercial.
