Hi everyone. I really hope this is the right place to ask this.

My blog is going to be about leadership and personal growth. Basically I've narrowed it down to 2, leaderthinketh and manthinketh. I really like the 2nd one as its catchy and rolls off the tongue, not to mention is loosely based on the book as a man thinketh. The problem is I don't just want to aim my blog at male readers, I'd hate to alienate people and lose potential female readers all because of the name.

Thoughts?

I personally think manthinketh is fine. It never even would have occurred to me that the site may be aimed at male readers due to the name. If you are really worried about it, you can always include a little snippet about the book "As a Man Thinketh" to help associate your site with the book (which may be a good idea since you have some of those words in your title). That way people will assume you named the site after the book. Honestly, I really don't think people are that easily deterred though.

The second name will seem like the blog is all about man related stuff at first look to any people as when someone reads the domain name. As per my opinion first one is good and helpful to target all type of audience specially women also. If you do not mind then a name for your blog that "humanthinketh", I would suggest.

I like claim the day. But I don't think manthinketh is alienating.

I'm a guy, so manthinketh would be fine to me, but I do see some women being turned away by that, so I'd probably go with something more gender neutral (like the first).

I don't like those names for a blog or for selling. I sent you a PM with some names in it that are free to register. One I really like and could even use it myself.

man is narrowing the field too much

leader is working against the idea of personal growth, unless it is for leaders only.

eth sounds biblical, but maybe in some cases that is a plus

Why are you raising this on a domain forum? Are you looking to buy an aftermarket domain.

Yes thanks for those! Yeah looking at how it would fair in the long run and if its good enough for SEO purposes. I think your feedback is right and I've been re-thinking the name now.

With the blog stuff aside Domains are definitely something I've wanted to learn about in regards to flipping etc

Glad that you were sent suggestions. But I were still to choose I will pick: manthinketh. The shorter and the brandable the name, the better. Hope you can decide on the best domain name for your new website.

Good luck!

This is your baby not mine.

But I honestly think you should go back to the drawing board with the domain.

Much, much better names to hand-reg in this niche.

Take your time picking the right name.

Remember, a domain is like the paint color of your house.

It's the first thing someone see's. And people do judge a book by it's cover (especially in this industry).

Just my 2 cents.

I think you're right .NJ. Been mulling it over and although I like the names I think I should take more time to think some over
