So if you buy a $8.03 .com domain at namebright with your balance you will in fact have paid around $8.27 (due to the 3% paypal or credit card fee that was previously charged for funding your account) but that's still cheaper than anywhere else.

So they don't charge a credit card fee for making direct domain purchases but they do charge a 3% credit card fee for funding your account.

Yeah I remember seeing the same a while ago (no fees for funding your account with a creditcard) but I guess they changed it.

You can however send a check to NameBright to prefund your account and then you will pay no additional fees and you will be able to get .coms at $8.03 per domain once your account has funds on it (you will of course lose the price of a postage stamp )

A $1 offer will be for one domain, not 1000.

I thought that was for one domain, maybe I'm wrong.
Either way .com discounts like that don't happen a lot anymore and are usually for a single domain.

Back in the days when Godaddy was offering $1-$2 domain coupons on a daily/weekly basis things were different.

Well like I said I was wrong then but I'm sure discounts like that are an exception. You can of course wait and hope for a similar promotion but I wouldn't hold my breath.

there might or might not be a $2 promo soon. nobody knows for sure as things have changed lately
you can register a .com sub-$8 but it is nowhere close to the $2 at EIG owned sites when they run a promo

I think godaddy is the cheapest! I never use them anymore since 2013, because everyday, they almost email me about product! and its annoying! I prefer with namecheap, cause less spam, and good news is they always announce coupon 10% off every month! but if godaddy give $1 for com I will change my mind and start to use them again!

Recently hostpapa offered unlimited 1st year .com $1 registration. Now ended already.

Domain.com and her children registrar netfirms, dotster, mydomain offering $1.99 per .com domain name every now and then. Sometimes can be used with discount coupon codes up to 25%, valid for transfer as well. Now they are offering again $1.99 .com deal.
