I'm new to the domain game, and this is my first post, so please bear with me ;)

The "newbies" section has a sticky which suggests starting out with NameDrive or Sedo. Most of the customer satisfaction posts in the Parking section seem to lean towards Parking.com or Bodis.

So...... where should I start?

if you are a newbie, i would start at sedo, and get the hang of it, see how they convert, and tweak from there.

Try a couple differnt ones and see how they convert

Try a couple different ones and see how they convert for your keywords. Each parking service has some different abilities and user interface even. Some are approval based like fabulous and some are free reg for all. I like namedrive but I have some names parked at sedo too. Sedo has a ton of traffic and if your looking to sell that may be the place to go for now. Make sure you optimize your listings if you are looking to sell.

happy parking :D

If there is at least 10 domains i'd say try parked.com

Less than 10 I'd say name drive for a starter.

I am told sedo has some of the crappiest overall bids in the industry if someone is not in sedo pro. Its good if the intent is to sell the domain for the exposure. If not try name drive or parked.com like I said

I would say, keep around 10 each between Parked, Namedrive and Sedo and see how things work out. After a few weeks, if you find that Parked or Sedo works better, move your other domains over to it. By works better I mean overall CTR and RPC.

Generally Sedo and Namedrive get reccommended to "newbies" because they accept almost everyone into their program. Use them to learn the ropes. Once you get the hang of things you can start getting some decent names and move up to a company that has to approve you based on your portfolio. Aproval based companies pay better but you may find yourself kicked out of them if you do something wrong. (or even if you don't) Start by learning what works on a more lenient system.

Nice tips! I found Namedrive good for learning the ropes. But once you've got your names and optimization that works, it's hard to think about shifting to other parking. Development just seems like such a better deal to me.

You can see that even here, people are recommending different vendors.

Just pick one vendor, park for couple of months and see for yourself. Unless you have a very high traffic domain name, average differences aren't that great (in my experience)

More important recommendation would be to pick a registrar where you can bulk switch DNS so that you can redirect your traffic from one parking vendor to other easily (hint: stay as far away as you can from 1and1).

Good luck!

I put a few at NameDrive and a few at Parked.com. I find the customization at Parked.com to be much better - their keywords seem to be more targeted, the resulting links are perfect. The ones at NameDrive seem a little less so, and I used the same keywords on both sites.

The ability to choose from a huge number of outstanding images on Parked is awesome. The resulting pages there look exactly like they would have if I had done them myself.

I use GoDaddy, so switching them over in bulk took mere seconds.

Now let's see what happens ;)

You want the best advice? Dont park your domains anywhere. Parking is dead! One mans opinion.

You will find that there is no one provider that is best for all of your domains. The best thing to do is test across a few different platforms, both Yahoo and Google and see which works best on a domain by domain basis.

I realize this is very time consuming, but it's the only way to truly find which parking program is best.

Cheers,

Is there a chance where the parked domain will rank well in the Search Engine

Well, I'd rather have them parked than sitting in my account doing nothing. The chance of creating some income from them is better than nothing. I've got about 10 I have already developed that do well with AdSense, and about 10 more to develop soon - the rest of them can stay parked until I do something else with them.
