Well... Seems as if I've fallen into a bad pattern.

I reg good names, and end up selling them here at NP for just above reg fee, to resellers. I have tons of names on Sedo, but get no interest, get no offers.

I need to actively market to end users more :(

Anyone have tips / fallen into the same patterN?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Some additional options include Afternic, eBay and direct contact (properly done) with potential end users

SitePoint get a few end users buying at reasonable prices.

No harm in listing it at www.siteusell.com either, more backlinks in the end.

I'm in the same boat. I've had some limited success on eBay and I've even had a few good, relatively speaking, sales on domain forums such as Namepros. I'm now trying to do a little better and get out of this pattern myself.

hmmm unfortunately everybody thinks they are regging good names...it is worth having a go dividing your portfolio into say 4 groups...the first group are the premiums which are worth renewing no question, these are the ones to be patient with, the second are the $xx domains which can be offered up on afternic bazaar, tdnam, or np cash sales, the third are those which can be disposed for $np for another nper to have a go. The fourth group are those names which are there primarily for traffic to cover the reg fees which may overlap with groups 1 and 2. Sometimes the perception of a name changes over a period of time and slithers across all 4 group categories so it is not an easy task...

Some good points..

That said, don't neglect off-line venues for sales.. business classified ads in the local newspaper or shoppers will sometimes grab that forward-thinking customer who up-to-now hadn't considered an online business.. and, guess what? Often you may find a bigger offline dollar value for your domains than online.. give it a try! Approach suitable local businesses and offer to host them and set up a website along with the domain .. you may find you'll average 3 to 10 times more for your average to better domains that way.
