Pretty much in all my experience, you get a name, put up a simple site and when wham, you're #1 or #2 in google for the exact match in the .com.
I tried this for a high priced keyword in the printer toner industry, and after a while I'm still stuck in the mid double-digits for placement.
The searches aren't high, just 260 global exacts for: cc364a toner but maybe it's the high competition, or just the fact that I didn't do any link building or promotion. Still, for other names, it was ALWAYS in the top 3.
