Question of the day:

What do you count as a high exact search count (according to googles keyword tool) when you consider domain names for purchase/registration?

10 000? 50 000? 100 000 exact searches?

This depends on other factors like the ppc for the keywords I am targeting, what service or product I plan to offer on the site, ad placement and click through rate and how many exact searches the term gets in the geographic area I am targeting as well as globally. Take for example the following two scenarios:

Scenario A
I have a website that distributes a product and my main geographic target is the UK. The keywords I am targeting get 100,000 global exact searches a month with 22,000 in the UK. The highest ppc for my keywords is 0.80.

Scenario B
I have a website that offers a service targeted globally. The keywords gets 12,000 exact searches a month. The highest ppc is 4.00.

What one is more likely to succeed? The one with higher exact searches (A) or the one with lower (B)?

Good points Dave, but this time around I'm just curious about the "exact search result" limit people set for themselves when looking for domains, independent of geo targets and PPC costs. (I understand PPC and geo targets play important roles when it's decision time, but lets not include those factors now. Lets focus on the exact search results ONLY.)

BUT, since you approached the topic from a different angle, let me just ask you this. Lets say you're just skimming some droplists or you're looking for some new handregs, what's on the #1 spot on your priority list, PPC or exact search results (globally)?
