Hi guys,
Whilst doing some keyword research, I came across these two:

1. keywordkeyword.org 30k exact searches per month in the USA, 40k global in google keyword tool

2. keywordkeyword.org 40k exact searches per month in the USA, 60k global in google keyword tool.

Both of these keywords are products for sale, for example, "mens watches"

I have not regged them simply because I have no plans to develop them, but my question to you guys is do these types of domains have any value, or are they best left alone. I have come across quite a few of these fairly high volume keywords, with an exact match .org or .net available. They seem to be expired domains that the previous owner had parked, but has not renewed.

Interested to hear your thoughts
Cheers

There's always value in product related domains that have a 'mid-to-high' search volume and decent cost per click. My suggestion would be to search Google for the exact product phrase and see if you have any companies buying sponsored links for that exact keyword phrase. If so, these would be your best prospects for buying the domain.

Thanks,

thanks for your reply.

Just had a look now, the cost per clicks are all in the $1 to $2 range. There are 8 companies who have bought sponsored links for the exact keyword, all of them are retailers.

As i said, the keywords are not far off "mens watches" so pretty general product terms that most online retailers will sell.

Are you suggesting that it could be worth regging the domain and then trying to sell it to end users? Im new to all this, so not really sure of the strategies people use. I just saw these nice keywords and thought that with the high searches, and the fact that they are products, they might be worth something. I suppose i could develop them, but im busy with some mini sites and dont have time to backlink larger sites, as i am guessing they would take a while to get ranked.

If they are in fact, generic keyword phrases, by all means register these names. Please understand that most of your value will probably come from development or with domain age (2-10 years old). But, you can always use the wildcat approach and send an email proposal to a couple of companies and see if they would be interested in these domains.

Hope it works out,
David Taylor

Hey David, thanks for your info. I think I will reg them, then work on them later on in the year when I have some time.

Thanks again :)

Hi,

Even if you don't get time to develop, you can always flip them for some profit. From whatever data you have mentioned, I think it shouldn't be difficult to resale them for a profit.
