Hello everyone,
A while ago I have bought this domain name from the member @bayucandra (he is offline since April)
I have asked him after buying the domain to edit his thread but I guess he forgot that.
The problem that happened lately is that I found a buyer who was willing to pay well for the domain name,
then he found (using google search) the namepros sale thread (since it's indexed).
So he refused to pay that much for a domain that I've bought for 3$
I'm ok with losing that buyer , I may get lucky another time , but what's frustrated me is that I've been reporting the thread and asking the moderators to either delete the thread or at least edit it and remove my domain name from it.
But namepros moderators keep replying with:

Unfortunately, your recent report has been rejected: Post in thread 'auction - Brandable name for Gaming $1 start' -

https://www.namepros.com/threads/content-removal.1047416/

If this is the case , I don't think buying domain names in namepros is good , if you're planning to resell it, since there is no rule that obligate a seller to delete or edit his thread if he successfully sold his domain name.
What do you think guys about this?
Regards,

Basically, removing the content would form a broken link, which is a bad thing for a website!

Not sure why they can't remove the URL..

Sorry about your frustrations..

I understand the broken link part , but why can't they just hide my domain name.

@K.Youness
You raised a good point. Simplest solution would be to leave all domain sales threads unindexed by search engines - same as the Business Class sections.

Have You Tried contacting @Eric Lyon

Removing the domain name from the thread should not be a issue

I have tagged him , let us see what he says or why he missed it

apparently it's an issue for moderators, I have asked the moderators (using the report button) to just edit the thread and remove my domain name, but they just keep refusing it and replying with that message.

We, opt-in to use namepros or not. Which in my opinion is the best domainer forum on the internet. However, NP is indeed a choice no one forced you to open a thread here.

Have you even read the thread , I have bought a domain , I haven't open a thread here, I've just asked to remove my domain name from that thread (which is indexed) so I can have a chance to resell it.
I don't know why moderators are refusing that , because it's my right , and it's not even that hard to solve.

May be they thought you were asking for deleting a thread

Most buyers, even me ask sellers to edit/remove the domain after sale

In your case as the seller is not online , moderators should remove it

As far as i know they are good to help , i am not sure about your case though

You should have firmly insisted that the seller make the changes at the point of the transaction.

Also, if the users can edit titles and content of a sold domain the mods should be able to as well.

But here is the problem with that...

Lets say a mod does remove the domain. Can you imagine how many 'domain removal' requests they would be flooded with? Instead of asking the seller, the mods would be somewhat obligated to do it.

I wouldn't want that burden either, so I'm not shocked they don't want to start doing that for members.

Do your best to contact the original seller and see if they can assist.

It is up to the member that sold you the domain name whether they want to edit their sales thread to remove the domain you purchased from them.

If it's important to you, discuss it with sellers prior to bidding/buying and make it clear that you will only bid/buy if the seller will remove the domain from their thread once the auction is over. Once they agree to that, we can assist you or they will remove it themselves.

This is not an issue with NamePros. It's an issue between you and the seller of your new domain name.

Thanks for understanding,

But in this case as the seller is offline from months . What he can do on this from his side ?

It's really something that has to be discussed and agreed to in advance between the buyer and seller. It's not something that should be done days or weeks or months after a deal is completed.

I have asked him after buying the domain to edit his thread but I guess he forgot that.
If he agreed to this, please send the link to a moderator and we'll edit out the domain name from the thread.

Thanks,

You buyer who refuses to buy the domain, there is your real problem.
All domains were hand registered at one point so they all cost $10 or less prior to being sold for thousands.
