What's with GD Auctions?

I was closely watching an auction which ended with no bids and the page said something like the auction is ended and the domain could be available to buy. It didn't mention if it'll be available in Buy Now price I,e Closeout.

Now suddenly it shows Auction Ended with no extra info.

What happened? Did someone buy it in closeout? But it never entered into closeout as I had the tab open.

The domain is registered with another registrar. Are the domains that are only registered with GD go to closeout?

It was probably a user auction. Only GD owned expired domains go into closeout.

Did someone buy it in closeout?

Yes, someone bought it the same microsecond it became available. Happens all the time.
