What's Up Namepro'ers

I'm sort of new when it comes to actually selling a domain name-so I guess you could call me a newbie in that respect. Yet, when it comes to buying domains, well I've been doing that since 2006.

At this time I am interested in the business of selling domain names. However I'm not exactly sure where to start(meaning what domain names should I target). With that said, I was curious as to if anyone could suggest a quality "Domain business" course or PDF, that could actually show me that In's and Out's of this whole thing?

That aside, several months back, I recall reading that ".co" domain names were just as appealing as an ".com."

1.) Is there any truth to that?

2.) If you had purchased three domains with the same name i.e. example.org, example.net and example.co-in your professional opinion, which one would you select for your business?

Thank you

1) No there's no truth in that.
2) It depends on the business. ie. Health related .org, Internet related .net, Columbian related .co There are other examples of course. But I usually would not like .co to start a business unless I was directing it to the Columbian market. I would not use it instead of the .com in any case. I'd use the .net instead.

Thank You Stub.

Regarding question "2," the domain name would be for an consulting business.

On another note, would you be able to recommend any product that could get me going in the right direction? (Of course I would expect that product to contain quality actionable content that's also relevant to the current marketplace.)

There was a great post here on namepros about a guy that named his charity/company site with a dot co and everyone kept telling him there a typo on the paper (missing "M") and other things that made him throw up his arms with the practical use of dot co. Hopefully someone can link to it, I forgot where I saw it.

Assuming it's a US nationwide consulting business I'd use the .net or .org. But to be honest we need to know what kind of consulting business. Quite often there are alternative names to be had in the .com. Your question is still too broad to give a definitive answer. If you are stuck with the choice of only 1 name, you have painted yourself into a box already. You could also consider your name with a prefix or suffix. Feel free to PM me if you require more detailed private advice.

Sorry but I'm not sure what you are asking in your other note.
