Actually, I am thinking about developing some into websites. I do logo-design in my free time and I am updated on what's new and popular...its just that I don't know where to start :-/

Depends on the domain name. If the keywords pay a lot, then developing it would make probably be more profitable in the long run.

If it gets traffic, and you don't want to be in it for the long run, parking would be your best way.

The most profitable use of a domain name is to stage a fake domain accident - then collect the insurance.... dont have domain insurance? thats just crazy - call GEICO.

I appologize. The real truth is in development of a popular site and profiting from it then selling it - or being a saavy investor and picking up the right names at TDNAM and Flipping them on SEDO like Remit.com (11,500 at TDNAM, currently 80,000 on SEDO a week later).

God I wish that was me!

So, there's no point in buying new domains and selling them with no site on them? I mean it's so difficult toi be good at everything: buying the right name, making a proper design, optimizing it. I believe there must be specialization...

You can buy and sell domains if you would like, but that is a gamble. You have to find a domain that someone else wants, and try to find that person who wants to buy it.

If you can buy the right domain, you can make quite a bit of money, but if not, you may only make a few bucks.

Yes - you can buy a domain name and turn around and sell it - but consider the following;

Most good Domain names have already been regged.

So, what do you do? Look for expired or expiring domain names. There are 10s of thousands of good names expiring daily and you should be able to find a few winners with help from people here, software, and even auction houses.

for example many good domains are posted everyday in the "available domains" thread located in the "Expired Domains" section. Good luck!
