auction sites? key word tools? SEO? drop sites? development s/w? forums? anything?

what's your ONE single favorite web tool to use as a domainer and why?

one of my favorite resources as a domainer is www.Domaining.com - it's a nice destination to see headlines and news from some great domainers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Of all the tools out there, I probably use archive.org's Wayback Machine the most. Closely followed by iWhois.com

I would say the tool I visit the most is NameBio.com.

In order of usage:

1.) thinking and "gut feel". I like to think about where markets are going, technology, etc.

2.) News - all sources.

3.) Google, yahoo, yandex, rambler, baidu, etc. to investigate conjectures made in bullets 1 and 2. Use quotes, ads, etc. to evaluate keywords.

4.) adwords.google.com, wordstat.yandex.ru, index.baidu.com, seotools.jp, etc.

5.) Good wine

Basically I use thinking, gut feel, and news to form a market conjecture (bullets 1 and 2), then confirm using technical and fundamental metrics (bullets 3 and 4) before taking a position. Sometimes I am wrong, then I use bullet 5.
