The advantage of using Facebook messaging or reaching out to YouTube channel owners etc is that you can bypass the normal email spam filters that would otherwise block your outbound messages. The downside with reaching out to owners of social media accounts is that they often view internet marketing as free and are unwilling to pay a premium price for a domain. Note with Facebook messaging there are limits as to how many messages you can send in a short timeframe. I have also found that some folks do not check their messages frequently so sometimes I might get a response months or even more than two years later. In theory LinkedIn would be the ideal tool because you can target higher up in an organization but because of the cost I have never tried it.

Facebook could be a really effective place to market domains to prospective end users, however, they make it exceptionally difficult to DM users with unsolicited offers. I get it, they don't want spam.

I've never had much luck with Twitter or YouTube.
