I also have had a change of heart on the topic of "hate speech". I used to parrot the party line of "free speech is speech that you hate". I have actually changed my position on that topic slightly.

We need to come up with a new name that encompasses all our Universal ideals, rights, and values.

Why come up with a new "name"? Why not adopt the ideas that are good from any side and reject the bad ones. You should be able to disagree without being labeled. I hate labels.

The problem with labels is that they psychologically force people to act or think a certain way. The idea that if you agree with some of the ideas of the progressive left, then you must agree with all of the ideas and become a progressive leftist. Same if you like some ideas of conservatism. Must you become a conservative?

The only ideas that should be categorically rejected are those that encourage hate or hurt of fellow humans and that go against the norms of society. That fly in the face of universally accepted behavior shared by all cultures and spirituality. Some of the more recent posts by Rob seem to indicate he has evolved in this area.

You seem to have gone from overcoming humanity's bad characteristics in your 1st post I quoted - "requires that we overcome all the humanity’s bad characteristics" - to controlling and containing them in this next post. You were meaning that in your 1st post?

Well, when you don’t quite fit with any of the existing ideologies, doctrines, and philosophies that seem to no longer be able to adequately address all the problems in the World then obviously you have to find a new name other than leftist, right, progressive, conservative, liberal, capitalist, communist, fundamentalist, or any of the other old labels. If everyone chooses to base their actions on logic, compassion, and the Universal rights and values that we can all respect and believe in then that means that the World has chosen to combine all that is good from the many different labels that exist now and reject the parts that have been holding humanity back from ascending to a higher level of existence. IMO

Those who base their actions on common sense that is based on logic and compassion and in the future with some help from AI that is a force for good. IMO

This sounds very Orwellian to me. I wouldn't trust other people to create a belief system for me to follow blindly. As we can see from politics and religion, that doesn't work and only repeats the problem, perhaps to even a higher degree. As long as selfishness and greed are part of the human fabric. You can't erase that.

I know about the tragedy at gab, but only accepting domain transfers I think it's fair and it doesn't matter why it should be at issue.

All you have to ask is why other registrars don't want to accept gab.com. right?

It is not a secret that I align with a more Libertarian world view, believing that there is personal responsibility for personal sovereignty.

If you are a "good" person, people will do business with you, work for you, work with you, invest in you, cheer for you and pray for you.

If you are a "bad" person, it will eventually come out in the wash. Free speech is a great detergent.

Where it gets ugly is what we have today. We have sites like Huffington Post and Wikipedia that trot out nonsense without remedy or rebuttal.

That is why the world needs new digital alternatives that are governed by enduring principles and values and not directed by hidden agendas.

Yes, I have a few things cooking and am working diligently to bring them to fruition. I intend to do this as transparently as possibly for the benefit of mankind.
