i have a question about .TV geo's.

what "type" of geo is better for value and branding?

england.tv or english.tv

spain.tv or spanish.tv

poland.tv or polish.tv

russia.tv or russian.tv

africa.tv or african.tv

etc etc (not my domains)

which do you prefer for value and branding and why

Personally, I highly prefer the exact name of the country, that is england.tv over english.tv, spain.tv over spanish.tv, for both value and branding as those names have higher overture results and make more sense with the .tv extension in my opinion.

Although renewal fee is probably (way) higher for the exact country name, but well worth it.

I 100% agree with johntv, england.tv is miles better than english.tv and it works the same with all country names.

Also: Many Country name .tv's have cheap renewals so often are not the expensive option. I have Scotland.tv & Paraguay.tv and the renewals are only $300 & $250 and i know of many more geo .tv's with cheap renewals due to them beiung bought during the discount period.

i like them both, but i see them as standing for two different things- spain.tv to me would be stuff about spain itself- where i see spanish tv being more about the culture, not the geography- i dont see spanish tv as a geo- spain tv is the geo- spanish tv to me is like spanish food, spanish music, etc... you would not say spain music-
so, if it was about spain, i would go with spain- but to explain anything about the spanish culture i would use spanish- jmo

UK.TV would have trademark issues, its the name of a network of channels over here.

My first choice would be England.tv as a geo name, as a matter of branding and coherency for non-English speaking countries I would go for Espana.tv or Espanol.tv instead of Spain or Spanish.tv.

It really depends of what the country is and what the language is and how big potential there is. I would not trade my Espanol.tv for Spain.tv or Espana.tv

Well myself I prefer Espana.tv, I find it more "catchy". It comes to how you say it. Google searches can help too.
I registered Iber.TV, that is not even a word but it does relate to Spain and it is catchy.
If both are attractive (say UK vs British) I would keep the country name over the adjective.

It is always better if the name makes sense in many cultures, which is often an advantage of geo names. Where is the main audience? If it is local audience try the local name. If it is foreign audience (the place is a tourism destination) try the English name, or whichever name most visitors are familiar with.

So what would AMERICA.TV (not mine) be worth 50k 100k 500k or more?

i would think it would be at least 500k what is your opinion?

i am thinking of using america.tv as yard stick to value others.
